I worked at the park that year - 1983. That was a disaster of a parade. Cast members were passing out from the heat created by the fans strapped to their backs that kept the "balloon" costumes inflated. However, there were some spectacular parade units. I have funny stories and fond memories of this parade.
Anybody who was in the parade like I was probably has old VHS footage....or even 16mm. When my dad shot the parade one day - I told everybody he'd be standing on Christmas Tree Point where Town Square meets Main Street. Nearly every character in the parade went right up to him for a close-up on our camera. The people/kids around him loved it....but they couldn't figure out what was so special about some middle-aged bald dude! He kept his secret...and ours!

I was in this parade--a 15 foot popcorn box in the Pinocchio unit. Unfortunately, no footage of that unit here !
