Just a suggestion for a possible future Abandoned Oz VLOG and this is only if it’s safe to do so and not out of bounds and publicly accessible, could you do a VLOG on the remains of the old railway bridge that crosses Parramatta Road at Homebush West, that once serviced the old State Brickworks, the Abattoirs and Pippita platforms and railway yards. Cheers Dave
I commuted that old staircase every weekday for a year in 1989 changing to/from the Intercity to Suburban trains. I hardly recognise the place now, although the sight of those old Intercity trains gave me flashbacks - 5 hours commuting a day was not a good way to live!
There are a lot of videos on Central lately because it was a dirty dark sometimes creep and unsafe rabbit warren of a station - now it has turned into a beautiful swan of a station that open and well lit up.
Does anyone have a photo of that bridge that connects to there, from memory pre-renovations it was covered and not in use. Trying to figure in my mind how it connects
You should do the old Wangi Wangi rail line that ran to Wangi Wangi Power Station from Awaba Station. It's been many years now since that's closed down and would be fully overgrown (the old track that goes to Wangi Wangi from Awaba).
@alanwing5191 No worries! I used to live at Cooranbong back in the 70's when I was a kid..And I remembered that there was the rail line that went from Wangi Wangi Power Station to Awaba Station. When we used to go to Newcastle with my parents, we'd go under the rail bridge as you'd head up the hill towards Rathmines. You'd always see the freight train using the line. It was always a sight to see!

Thanks Phil for highlighting these remnants of our past. Sadly too many have disappeared without a trace.
I worked in the railway workshops and i am pleased to see the world wars remembrance boards preserved at Central
Went down those escalators today but as usual I didn't look around. Thanks to you I will look around next time.
Great Video - Shared/scheduled.
