The best 9mm ammo that you can use IS exactly what your local cops are using. Doing this will destroy any Prosecutor's attempt to paint your shooting as anything other than self defense.
I love ammo testing. I have a lot of HST +p, two boxes of regular, gold dot I think I have two boxes of these. Now I want some punch as well but I'm thinking of a 40 cal sorry I prefer baretta pistols.
Winchester defender 124 + P is my favorite ammo my second favorite ammo is Hornady American Gunner XTP 124 + P muzzle Velocity is 1175. Great Choice with the defenders.
You don't mention what the test medium was, I've seen the winchester and the sig ammo fail to expand when going though clothing, the federal punch looks the same as the federal HST, the reason the punch differ in expansion to the HSTs is due to the lead being softer because there is less antimony used in the lead, you may want to test the sig and winchester with clothing before betting your life on them, I've been doing this for 57 years, the punch performs well through clothing.
All good options. I had excellent and sometimes better results using Winchester Ranger T and Liberty Civil Defense. Winchester under rated Ammo option. They really have some of the best.
Have you taken (Even a visual-which is all I have been able to take in) the RIP- "Radical Invasive Penetration" 9mm round?- Wow do they look hardcore. I have "Heard" problems with feeding issues, it does not shock me. Look at the trocars. The Brittish military, & maybe law enforcment bought a bunch from the USA. If you care do an immage search on Google and look into them. I have had enough feeding problems with "Some" hollowpoints. I like the Speer Gold dot & the 115 gr Hornady. The Hornady has the protective center, so the feeding goes smooth. I know plenty of former military that will only use Hornady-115 gr. Take care-great video, God bless-Shawn.
115 grain sig v crown box says 1185 fps but chronos at 1205 avg fps 13 in pen out of a 3.5 in so great numbers

Federal HST 124gr +P (for my handguns) and Remington 124gr Golden Saber Bonded +P (for my PCCs) are my go-to.

Try Winchester Ranger T. If you like those Winchester Defenders.. There's a High probability that you like the Ranger T series even more.
Speer Gold Dot 124gr +P, Underwood 124gr+P+ and Corbon 125gr +P deserve to up there as well.
Why sll the plus P? Just get a .357 Sig and call it a day.
