I overlooked the "Digital" part of the title, and was looking for which film stock you were shooting on, until I realised this was digital. I wish I had bought this camera when it came out, or that they would release it again, as it looks SO much like film. You really nailed the aesthetics with this.
There is a color correction done due to the D16's hue and the quality of light. I also adjusted exposure a bit. I wouldn't call it a full on color grade. I used the Eddie Barton LUT which is more a roundabout Color Space Transform.
do you find it significantly different than the blackmagic pocket OG? I know these two cameras were competitors for a while- then the pocket dropped its price to $2k to $995 and thus the bolex died.
I've been shooting with the OG for a long time; that little camera is a beast, and offers a lot of options for rigging, power, media, lenses, etc. I just got the Bolex last week and am still learning to use it. What I will say about the D16 is that the image does not need a lot in post to look stunning and the noise feels a lot more organic that the OG. The global shutter also does something to the image cadence that the OG, even with the tiny sensor can't replicate. I'll be posting more Bolex videos in the near future.

@@jespersichlau4343 thanks for watching. It is a nice camera for that look. Definitely comes with its quirks but I am not complaining.
looks good. I really like the following the person shots.
Thank you! Neon light definitely helps the frame. The PL and heavier lens help stabilize the shot a little... Still shaky, but not as jittery.
@@FerLopezPaz yeah, a bit of shake isn't bad for a scene like that but jittery gets annoying.
Lookin good!!
Thank you! I appreciate you watching.
Looks great! Is that where we shot part of Deployment?
Thanks Jmo! It's a little further west, but similar feel. Congrats 👶!!!
Is this graded, or any LUTS, or is this just the raw bolex d-16? Thank you

@FerLopezPaz curious.. is there a significant analogue looking difference between the OGs CMOS sensor and the bolex CCD sensor?
@@fourth1000 I wouldn't say it is significant. But to me, it is noticeable.
Did you shoot at T2.9?
Yes. Kinda wish I had a faster PL lens handy.
@@FerLopezPaz Faster than 2.9 and the price goes up.
