Saw the news yesterday and thought "can't wait to hear Lee's take". Not disappointed! Can't wait to hear about the boats once they hit the market because I can already feel the money burning a hole in pocket.

Thanks for this video. Most local racing boats in our area already have a mix of builder and non-builder parts. Our club will allow both ISCA and Sero Sunfish (and all the older ones of course) for our local racing. In fact, a club near us does not allow official racing sails because of the higher cost. For the more serious racers, it is buyer beware, and that is going to get more confusing as the Sero boats get into the market because the one item that was reliably race legal was the hull.

Thanks for the comment…. Those racers who do higher level Class racing, “world Qualifying”events will figure out the difference- which is basically a sticker. But I agree, those not in the know it can be confusing.

I may be totally delusional but it would be nice to have a class legal boat with the Sunfish logo and class legal North Sails with the logo. I know as you mentioned politics but would it be terrible to have 2 class legal builders and have the sunfish logo be back in use? Collaboration hopefully

Does this have anything to do with the plethora of tariffs being put in place?

I dont think so. Sero Innovations were planning this (if you read between the lines) when they started making the SOL.
