How is Shin useless again?
@@Far2Sega4UBut Buu saga was a long time ago though after that he's mostly useless, So I can see why people forget what he has done in the Buu saga but I agree there is that side of fandom that thinks a character is useless if they don't fight.

The fact he’s not playable in Sparking Zero is shameful and if we ever get a Xenoverse 3 I hope Otherrealmer/Glind are a playable race.
Yeah, Shin fit more in the underutilized category as opposed to being useless. Everyone says some characters like Krillin are useless, but they’re always put in situations where they can’t do much.
Would be cool if we got some sort of flashback episode. Maybe shows them in their upbringing, perhaps even when Shin/Nahare was chosen to become a Kaioshin. I suspect it correlates with their estranged relationship, since Degesu doesn't necessarily like that he's a Kaioshin.
Shin always felt a bit of an underwhelming fighter that Piccolo shouldn't have been sweating bullets over in the tournament in DBZ. Like he is introduced as a menacingly strong person when... He quickly showcased that he's overwhelmed in a fight. At least after DBZ they polished him up into being smarter and know not to throw himself in the line of fire. And in this series he's finally showing how he can hold composure when he isn't wildly confused about his environment.
This is why, while the internet was still on the fence about this show a year ago, I was immediately psyched for it. Because I knew Shin would be getting a ton of focus. I loved his role in Z, I loved his role in Super's Goku Black arc (more specifically the manga version), and I loved just getting a chance to see him any other time. Granted they always left him with an air of mystery, because he was never delved into much as a character. He was always a character that left something to be desired, and we're finally going to learn more about him. I'm just hoping this show does not leave me disappointed in the end, but I am confident it will not.
1:07- Goku has really come full circle- developing slowly from a boy who lived in total isolation to a man who will try to do the ideal option in a world that demands pragmatism and coming to accept his questionable heritage to back to being a boy who is a muscle for the objectives of others
I love how Daima shows the development of Shin's relationship with Goku. In the Buu saga he was just some reckless mortal, and now we have Shin watching Goku fight with a look of admiration in his eyes. Goku is treated like an incompetent moron by many characters (mainly Vegeta), but Shin has complete trust in Goku and doesn't seem to mind his eccentricities (if anything he seems to like them)
Oh man, Masako talking about Shin fusing with Goku as the antithesis to Fused Zamasu is kind of like the story for my Dragon Ball OC. Makes me happy to hear that.
Of course Shin is going to be the one to eat the fusion bug, he's shown to actively not want to eat bugs. It's like getting Vegeta to do the Dance an embarrassment ritual to make the audience laugh before the payoff. The real question is will the Fusion actually be allowed to accomplish anything?

I love the fact that the phrase "do your best" or "good luck" in Japanese rhymes with the Supreme Kai's birthname. "Ganbare, Nahare!" Even typing that out has me genuinely wanting our most well-known Glind to have a solo battle that pushes his limits just so that I can call out that phrase. I’m really glad they got rid of the “gold fruit” I still wish king Kai would get a promotion for literally training the strongest mortal in 8 universe’s
to be fair, he's not always meant to join fights of mortals, he said that about Freeza, he only gets involved with Gods, like Zamasu, and Majins like Boo, Dabura and Babidi. Goku Black and Zamasu is proven too much for him so he did not even made attempt, as he already know Goku and Vegeta's strength, unlike their first, he had no idea, so he try to handle things his own ways.
Goku doesn't change because he already has End-Story Wukong's attitude more or less. That is he's already enlightened. Anyhow if Black Freeza actually threatens the gods when we get back to the present, I hope kaioshin is involved.
Since you brought it up (and I don't think it meshes up with the other comment)... Isn't not changing much basically Goku's Trademark characteristic at this point? He didn't exactly change much over the course of the series really. Ever since the end of Pilaf Arc in DB his motivation was mostly limited to getting stronger. Oftentimes just for the sake of getting stronger. He never really changed his ways or priorities now that I think of it.
Finally we get to see the demon realm which was just only mentioned few times. [Sploilers!] Now that we know that Namekiens originated from demon realm Demon king Piccolo is now officially a demon but also technically an alien. He is both! Even Popo also has some "pointers" what he truly is. Also good for shin for getting important plotline

Shin is absolutely not SSj2 tier, he's weaker than Dabura who is equal to Perfect Cell. He's Cell saga SSj1 Goku level, which in of itself is still very powerful.
I've never viewed shin as useless, he's always been vastly outmatched in DBZ. But now with Goku not being able to go "full power". And the use of magic playing more of a center role, he has more time to shine and show off his skills

Nahare is such a cute name. Shin has been a delight in Daima and I’m enjoying all the Glind lore we’re getting. Speaking of, I’d love to see a bug fusion between, say, Bulma and Goku, or Piccolo and Vegeta. Something totally unexpected and with characters that may not usually be able to fuse with anyone. That’d be so much fun. Extremely unlikely, but fun.

Its very interesting that you pointed out that while Goku is our perspective character he is not the main protagonist of this story. I hadn't noticed it but that seems to be very accurate. It's almost as if Goku & Co are only there to indicate this is a dragonball story. Though ive said it before but ill say it again, i personally wish Goku and friends were not changed to children, instead i had hoped this would be a Goten and Trunks adventure. They were already children and Goten already has shown us he is a carbon copy Goku so why not use that to the shows advantage, rather than pull a GT and make goku a kid again. Give Goten and Trunks a much needed win, as the only times they've ever taken the lead they've lost such as the Buu arc and the Broly Fusion reborn movie they've always been saved by Gohan who then gets saved by Goku.
I'm a bit sad that Kibito decided to stay back. I was expecting the show to get to the point where they need a fusion, then Goku and Vegeta use the fusion bugs, only for it to turn out to be a complete meme fusion, and the day would have been saved by Shin fusing with Kibito, but since Kibito stayed behind (probably because characters with the ability to heal all wounds are problematic to write around) it seems quite unlikely to go there now

@MasakoX can we do a "What if Bug Cell had traveled 6 months further back in the past, or a year, back when the Z Warrior's power levels were around 200-600 and they they fought?" Like, I know the larvae bug thing wasn't supposed to be ready to fight, but in such a weakened state maybe it was around 1K or so (as opposed to the 250M we first meet him at.) Would he still be able to use some techniques as a bug? Maybe Radditz would be the first to find it with the scouter. Maybe Goku felt it's ominous ki 6 months prior to Radditz getting to earth. Maybe the time machine was found right as it landed, and someone notified the Capsule Corp. IDK Just have had that idea for a while.
I'd argue Shin was competent enough in the Super manga, however the Super anime truly ruined his image. I am glad to see him get the spotlight in Daima and I hope Kibito is next.
Bro daima has been doing Shin hella favors. Especially since a lot of the series (and especially super) were really just making the poor glind look just like a massive idiot
Again I have to say, reread the Super Manga, Shin is more promiment in it and isn't really "useless". personally he's never been useless to me, man would try just as hard in fights if he could, he's just prone to panicking fast.
Um actually ☝️🤓 the title should say: “I no longer think this dragon ball character is useless”or “I no longer think of this dragon ball character as useless” not i no longer think this dragon ball character AS useless. It’s “Is” not “As”
I think it's a bit too early to say with any degree of confidence where Shin's Siblings stand on the morality spectrum. So far Arinsu strikes more of the notes of being uncaring for moral implications of her actions than actively malicious towards anyone. We lack the info of exact politics of the demon realm. So far we only really know that the segregation of Demon Realms and their denizens is a very deep seated and long time deal. We know that the physical separation of the realms happened somewhere before Glinds left the demon Realm as Shin is aware that the tunnel warded of by the light barrier used to connect the realms. We know it has gotten worse over time as the PIN number system was placed after Glinds have already left. But we also know that even before that there wasn't much camaraderie between realms as Nahare admits he never visited the third realm and it seems that generally "higher class" demons didn't exactly care about lower worlds. Was it Dabura that ordered whole third demon world to be corraled? Or was it his father? It seems that Dabura was favorable to Arinsu's technological advances (as opposed to majority of the realm and Gomah's disdain for it) so it's hard to tell. Did she make the corrals because she was asked and she never really cared how they'll be used? Or was it her initiative to get in king's good side? Really hard to say at the moment
Shin took more of a beating than Gohan did when Buu first hatched. He then proceeded to save Gohan who was on the brink of death. He called out Majin Vegeta for his stupidity, to his face. Was even willing to step betwen Goku and Vegeta to stop them fighting. But since it was 2v1, he figured it best just to take out Dabura and Babidi before the idiot saiyans gave Buu enough energy to hatch. I'm glad he's getting more time to shine now but those thinking he was weak/a joke clearly never paid attention. The people thinking that are the same people who think Goku was a bad Dad, and that Yamcha is also weak/a joke. Their knowledge of Dragon Ball likely comes from Abridged. Sad times when people are more knowledgable about a parody than the actually source material.
Shin has achieved the USEFUL State transformation after so long

He never was. Shame people who aren't around anymore can't see this
I'd argue Shin was competent enough in the Super manga, however the Super anime truly ruined his image. I am glad to see him get the spotlight in Daima and I hope Kibito is next.
I can't wait for the what if goku had a sister saga again. Can u make that a comic series like r&r please. Jocha x tien 😊
How much does DIAMA change Super?
Bro daima has been doing Shin hella favors. Especially since a lot of the series (and especially super) were really just making the poor glind look just like a massive idiot
Goshin? Kaioku? Kakahare? Nakarot?
Is that yuji's jacket?
Again I have to say, reread the Super Manga, Shin is more promiment in it and isn't really "useless". personally he's never been useless to me, man would try just as hard in fights if he could, he's just prone to panicking fast.
Um actually ☝️🤓 the title should say: “I no longer think this dragon ball character is useless”or “I no longer think of this dragon ball character as useless” not i no longer think this dragon ball character AS useless. It’s “Is” not “As”
What if Masako X does the black flash
Character development in dragon ball?
