    Actually when seismic or any kind of waves that travel from denser to less denser medium velocity increases .. from less denser to high denser medium , velocity decreases where as frequency remains same at both the cases with respect to magnitude .

    does faults extend into the mantle and upper core? If not, what triggers the body waves? And also, you said earthquakes occur in the lithosphere, so what waves do we feel in an earthwquake? surface or body waves? Thank you

    As you said all earthquake takes place in lithosphere, the visual in which you are showing body waves , is showing focus/hypocenter in the mantle.

      It not only occurs in the lithosphere, it also occurs in some upper mantle part near moho discontinuity or below that too.

    Hello sir. It was an extremely informative video but I have a doubt. You said, the denser the material, the higher the velocity byt velocity is inversely proportional to density. I'd be grateful if you could clear this.

    As the seismic waves; surface waves in particular come across the materials of lower density near or around the surface, they refract & reflect thereby leaving behind a fault. Does this imply how "faults" are created? Please elaborate 🙏

    At 1:38 you shows hypocenter below lithosphere, but earlier you told that all natural earthquake accur in lithosphere.
    Than what is the reason for showing hypocenter below the lithosphere ?
    This is a only doubt remains afterall all explaination excellent.
