Zerath has smart AI only because the condition is being above x% of max HP to use the skill, which in dungeons is mitigated by the heal in between waves + shield sets Mid boss res was nerfed to 69% so you only need 55% Acc now, Sophia activation rate is not 100% so it's possible that the Def break won't activate or gets 15% resisted

You can improve this GB12 team with jaara for bdef, garanted Bdef and brand (and if team up with icaru, chance to have bdef and brand still work cause it's from the passive). And i actually have jaara and Zerath (the only 2 LD i have, not the best for all content but at least have best team for GB12, and zerath kinda good in RTA and arena defense but not in Arena offense because damage are not that good without Bdef on high def target, but people attacking you use nuker so if you outspeed, you one shot them all even if they have will rune). Unfortunately i don't have the best rune quality for zerath to one shot the wave (really close but not enough), don't have the dark blacksmith too (i replaced it with a second icaru which increase a bit the chance to not have bdef in case of resistance) Still having an ok 25s average run.
some monsters have perfect IA just because of some conditions (zerath has perfect IA because he cant use the 3rd skill when he's low and he cant heal if he's not low, if he had some other skill 2 that doesnt heal or cleanse he will act like mo long IA), raoq and icaru have perfect IA without condition tho
Take a demon, like wind. Put him good atk / CR / Ct DMG. And you can put a Zerath : tricaru Méphisto for an exemple with fight runes on tricaru and that will be easy for you
U could also use zerath, Sophia/Loren, Deborah, double kro or a Naomi instead of the second kro. I don't know about your rune quality, u don't need god tier runes but I guess it's not that easy to build either
10:10 maybe having a strip to get that shield out before Zerath nuke would have been better than that Carlos (there is an Woonsa in there somewhere, maybe that has a skill that strips), Zerath nukes hard, but not that hard to kill with a fat Woosa shield xd

Regarding the issue with sum units not prioritizing particular skills over others I feel it comes down to “what purpose did com2us initially have for that unit?” Now there’s no way to know for certain unless com2us answers So then the better question could be how can we figure out skill priority for each unit or how can we figure out what game mechanics are prioritized over others ?
It's not that. my theorie is that Zerath have two conditions to prioritize s3 not one like every other unit in the game. Because not only they code him to use s3 when it's available but also when he is about 50% hp and more. He will not always do s3 below a certain amount of hp. He will do it sometimes but rarely. So when he is under a certain amount of HP he is like every other unit in the game.
its kinda strange that some unit has a condition to activate certain skills, some units dont and inconsistency is com2us specialty thru out their game so we will never know :(

This isn't about a max clear, i can clear even faster, this is about avg clear which is the real marker of speed. We don't farm 1 at a time, we farm 10x and bringing that time down overall means you get more access to runes :)

Yes, he have a second condition to use or not use it unlike every other unit in the game. Below a certain % of HP his AI is like every other monster
I have zerath and he feels kinda underwhelming to me. can easily be replaced by kaki does maybe slighlty less dmg but is way easier to rune :D

You're right, Jaara would do better, but I don't have one and yet have come up with something that's as effective and also very stable :)

it's pretty easy for a unit that has 15k base hp. The CD and a bit of spd is what makes it hard.
As a zerath user i can confirm: without def break he's just doing nothing with his s3^^

Mine does decent dmg on swift in rta without def break. It one shots most things with def break tho
