The only reason I passed on this one is because I went for the 1/4 Scale. Very pricey but worth it for me!
I'm actually kinda surprised you got this Vader around the same time I did. It's so impressive, most impressive in person. He really could use a Meditation Chamber environment. Also, after having him displayed for a couple months, he went back in the box this morning, until I get a proper clear cover for him!
Man, that Palpatine/Vader shot is the money shot right there.

I got it a few days ago and was shocked by how enormous it is! And honestly the only thing that I disliked about the figure is the fact that it doesn’t come with any neutral hands. I’d like the option to pose him just standing but I can’t
Dude! The way you posed Vader kneeling down with the trooper base is GENIOUS! Great review and I’m convinced in picking this Vader up as soon as I can. I’ve been holding off for whenever they get around to make a ROTJ version but I know that I’ll probably display that version with the unmasked sculpt so I do need this Empire version since he’ll have the helmet on. And that base is dope too so it’s a all around win! Great review as always bro 😎

I have the non-40th Anniversary version, love the thing, it is amazing in person and I have it prominently displayed with the cool Empire base in my Detolf.

Hot Toys needs to come out with two more figures to complete the Anakin/Vader timeline: 1) a child Anakin, from Phantom Menace, and 2) Return of the Jedi Vader with a maskless headsculpt. Vader in the Bacta tank would the whipped cream and cherry on top.

Spider armor mk iv looks really good
It’s interesting that hot toys use like an almost chrome silver to checkerboard the face (vs a flatter silver) because those surfaces tend to disappear in shadow....

The hands can be hard to peg in
Just got my vader in today loving it so far,only draw back is what you pointed out about finding the hand pegs
What’s your take on the possibility of the pleather flaking? Some say to coat it with silicon spray to preserve it. These are expensive figures amd I always worry about the pleather dissolving. My hasbros and Medicom 1/6 have already deteriorated.

Mine arrived today and the only annoying thing pissing me off is trying to click the electric lightsaber arm into place as its hard to see what you're doing as the leather on the arm does not come with a mini zip like the kylo ren hot toy arm piece does so you can unzip it and see what you're doing. STILL trying to click the arm in 4 hours later

Great video Jedha, I have Empire version and I love it, even tho I had problems with entire helmet getting un·glued out of the box, gotta love that hot toys glue hehe. Wish you did more poses at the end of your videos. Hope you give us some info on that custom cape cause that can be sick and I would love to pick one up as well.

Hi guys, could do with some help... not bought a hot toys figure before, but interested in getting one this year. Firstly I’m not sure whether to get Vader now, or wait for Rex to come into stock April/June?
Also, if I was to go with Rex, is there a guarantee I’ll get the figure when it comes into stock? Or is there chance it could get pushed back due to me preordering late.

What custom cape did you get? I’d like one too but they guys I know make them do not currently have any plans for a Vader cape.
Also, is it safe to remove the head? It says in the instructions to not do it or it might get damaged.

The only thing that looks odd to me is that the belt is riding to high on the waist. It looks a bit odd. I would say slide the belt down a bit. Not sure if it rode high in the movie though.

I was hoping he would put it on so we could see what it looked like (even though he doesnt like using them ) it is a review right ? should show everything ;)
The batteries are a nightmare to get into the arm. It looks good lit up but I decided to stick with the no light up saber, to save messing when changing poses

What’s the differences between Empire and RoTJ Vader suits? I know they’re very subtle just don’t know what they are
The difference will be that for the ROTJ he will be fully unmasked as opposed to this one which only showed the back of his in the film. But there aren’t any suit differences
An absolute beaut of a fig luv the ESB Vader best one yet, hopefully hot toys make a return of the Jedi version where you can remove the whole helmet!

@@carlosalcazar1192 I'm not sure about ROTS, but in the original trilogy there were subtle differences in his costume in each film. Compared to A New Hope, the ESB figure has a shiny helmet and silver highlights on his mask, and his robes are under his shoulder armor, as well as some subtle differences in the shoulder armor and chest panel. Probably, for most collector these differences aren't enough to warrant more than one figure, but there are fans who will want every iteration of the character.

Jedha, did you cut the sewing on the back of the Emperor's hood so you can pull it further forward? That's the one peeve I have with that figure.
nope, no modifications done.
@@JedhaPatrol Thanks. The hood on mine will not come that far forward, so its not movie accurate. Drives me crazy. The material is bunched up in the back and sewn in place - thinking of cutting it loose.

If you had to chose between Solo Darth Maul and OG Mando, which would you chose? I have both Episode One Maul and Beskar Mando on order.
If you end up regretting not getting one, I think it’ll be the OG Mando, not the Maul.
Solo Maul is about to be waitlisted
Wes Gibbins personally I’m ok with missing that one, as great as it looks. I would have totally regretted missing out on the OG Mando. It’s going to be more iconic.

Bro I got both within the same week, and I recommend doing everything in your power to get both NOW! The original Mandalorian is such a fantastic figure, as well as the Solo Maul, it has great articulation even though it looks like it won’t from the cloth 😀

I have had 3 1/6 Hot Toys Darth Vader's. My favourite is this one. I think that the proportions are great, I like that you can remove the helmet and see his scarred head and the base is brilliant. The other Vader's suffer from either having too padded a body or the the mask/helmet being slightly too big which can give the figure a bobble headed look.
