- Reports suggest Adrian Newey has made his decision to stay at Red Bull for the long-term, despite Ferrari and Aston Marting pulling out all the stops to take his services away from Max Verstappen. Carlos Sainz is hoping to "speed up" talks as he must make a decision between signing an apparent Mercedes contract, or waiting for Sergio Perez's seat at Red Bull.

Andretti brings much talk/controversy not value and the General Motors engine won't be there until 2028 and with a Renault engine they will be doomed to be a backmarker so where lies the the value they are supposing to bring?
Andretti weren't ready. Their engine (Built by GM) wasn't realistically going to be ready by 2026. Forcing them to use a Renault engine (Ya know, the current slowest team on the grid (Alpine)) until at least 2027/2028. Now, that being said, I would say they still provide more to the sport, than the current Sauber, or even Alpine (Renault). Yet, I can also understand why the governing bodies (and some of the teams) decided to hold back on their entry, for now. I have no doubt Andretti F1 will be on the grid, at some point. I think, in this case, we all just need to be patient.
Newey had worked with Aston Martin on the valkyrie already... he knows them, and their limits. Newey has his RB-17 project going in Red Bull, that he reeeeally enjoys, and has some very interesting freedom there.

I don't know why people bang on about how old the drivers can be these days. If 16 year olds could potentially 'hop in', then it obvs shows that a wider age range can drive modern cars than what was possible before. Maybe something to do with the general fitness and health of modern corporate drivers.

There are still tons of loopholes in the cost cap. If Red Bull wanted they could pull the politician method aka promise high paid consultant roles after the career to Newey.
It seems that Audi is a backup option for Sainz right now, but it is interesting that he apparently wants longer term deals if he goes to Merc, and presumably the same if he goes to RBR. Audi are certainly a vesting heavily in the new engine program and at Hinwil, even if this is much quieter than at other teams. I doubt Audi will emerge at the front like Brawn out of the gate, but what does Sainz see that he would prefer to go to an obviously struggling Merc on a multi year contract?
ALO should see off his career with them and get some sort of Legends deal with AM.
Keep those royalties coming and keep your name relevant with driver inputs to their supercars/hypercars and a drive with enduro teams that use their cars.
If the reports are correct, that's exactly what Alonso and AM have decided on. That's a big reason why he is staying with AM. The Aston Martin Ambassador deal is not only a nice way to stay relevant (and continue earning a paycheck) after he leaves F1. It's a fantastic legacy. Ending your career as an ambassador for one of the oldest and most prestigious automotive brands in the world, is such a classy way to go out.

Horner tricked F1 not to make major engine changes 2022 saying Honda is leaving. They need it. Then wow , Honda stayed who knew lol. Red Bull complained every year Merc was on top. F1 changed the rules every year to slow Merc down. Funny how it didn't happen with Red Bull
F1 teams Williams, Sauber, Haas, Alpine are all allegedly on the market for a buy out at a massively inflated price. So, Andretti does have lots of options.

Alonso is better than a lot on the grid, so pleased he is staying on. Sainz is going to Audi but needs a decent drive for next year to confirm this, Russell could be the one under threat in a good team going forward, though I think he is quick enough, but needs a bit more up top, but he is as fast as Norris & Albon, if not faster. Newey can succeed at any team, like John Banard a great design engineer.

Russell's performance, at the Mercedes team, has made Bottas look like a 'SUPER STAR' ever since he joined the Mercedes team and dragged the team down to a mid field status.
Bottas's contribution to the Mercedes team has completely out performed Russell's performance in every aspect........... and ...... more importantly, Bottas race approach was to proactively supported LH & the Mercedes team goals while racking a lot less car repairs than Russell's race approach 'race for himself only', backed by very limited driving capability.

Whoever thought Newey was leaving RB to begin with. Newey left McLaren because he no longer wanted to be in an established team and he has never shown any desires to work with Ferrari EVER. The only thing this clears up is that Max is staying with Red Bull. Andretti is full of hot air, his promise of an engine by 2028 has made me see he is full of it!

Around $15mil/yr, which might matter more to a Williams or Stake, and keep Perez in F1 at one of those teams, but might not be enough to keep from getting the boot at Red Bull if Perez tapers off again, like he did last year.
