    I had my bambino fiddle leaf fig for 3 months. I looks healthy, but no new growth. Hopefully, because of winter dormancy. Loved the video. To know I'm treating this plant correctly makes me feel like a good plant mom! 🪴 Also, looking forward to Roberta's on QVC!

      Yes, mine also slows down growth a lot in the winter so don’t worry! And thank you for your support!!

    My Bambino got a sunburn in my North facing window the other day 🤣 She's actively growing. I think light can be subjective based on actual location. I have monstera, pothos, alocasia, calathea, syngonium, Aloe (sunburnt the same day!), Peperomia, coffea arabica, and even kalanchoe all in this North facing room.

      Wow!! It must’ve been some very intense spring light!

    Thanks for all the tips. I am about to separate 3 fiddle leaf fig trees that I did a root devision on last year. The plants are thriving but I want to pot them all up correctly.

    Thanks for this info. I have a Bambino about that size that I've had about a year. Will they naturally start to branch horizontally eventually or is it naturally only upright? Like the haircut btw!

    • @plantvibrations
      @plantvibrations  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Eventually they will start to branch out on their own!

  • @MaryMonceaux
    @MaryMonceaux 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    So…..do bambino’s branch. If so, do you have a video on how to get it to branch?

    • @plantvibrations
      @plantvibrations  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They will typically create a Y branch where you take the cutting from

    Hi Devin. Great video! I recently acquired 3 different ficus plants in 2 weeks. The Lyrata, Lyrata Bambino and Lyrata Elastica. I would love to see a video on the Elastica, as mine fell into my lap and is at the exact stage of your lovely specimen in this video.
    My Lyrata is a rescue plant. When I got it it was leaning over in almost a "C". I've staked it for support but how do I strengthen the trunk so it stands on its own and grows straight? It's about 4ft.
    Is it OK to fertilize to promote growth since I've had them 2 weeks or should I wait until next year? They haven't lost any leaves, thank goodness, but they are showing no growth at all in the middle of growing season.
    The Lyrata has roots coming out of and circling the top, not bottom, of the pot. Should I repot it?
    They are all by a west facing sliding glass door. The bambino gets 2-3hrs of the setting sun. The other 2 are to the side so get medium/bright light but no direct sunlight. I let the soil dry b/t watering.
    Sorry for the 20 questions and thanks so much for the great info! I'll definitely keep in touch for the care of all 3 plants.

      @plantvibrations  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I fertilize mine all year round no problem. Allow the lyrata to adjust and allow the side that’s leaning to face away from the window. This could help strengthen the weaker side. They’re both very slow growers so don’t worry about not seeing growth

    I live in a cold humid climate where plants from the nursery begin to rot after about two weeks. Any tips for getting that wet slow drying soil completely off the roots so I can get in in a funky chunky mixture. Or is it okay to leave a ball of moist soul near the center of the root ball and fill in the outside and outer most of the easily un tangled roots maybe leaving 40% of the original soil. Or do I need to get almost all of it.

      If you feel it is causing a problem you can just wash off the old soil with water

    Devin, I learn so much from you. I have a fiddle leaf fig and it seems to be happy. I do need some help on the care of my sago palm. I just rescued it and some of the fronds are yellowing. I am not sure what to do about it. Does this mean the lighting is not right? Please help! Thank you for your videos.

      Hi Jamie! Thank you for watching. Is it outdoors? It can be quite tough to provide enough light for Palms inside but regardless palms will typically yellow on the edges anyways

    Great video. I am from India where it gets rather hot in the summer, but I've found a nice spot for my fiddle leaf bambino where it has stayed right from when I got it about 2-3 years ago. It's been in a 6" pot right from the beginning and is now about 5 feet tall and continues to get new leaves periodically. The thing is it is slowly starting to lose the old leaves right at the bottom, and I now have the bottom 6-8 inches or so bare. Given its age and height, is it time I repotted it? Also, should I prune it at the top and let it branch out? I do love the absolutely straight growth, but it has become a tad spindly.

      I have one very similar to what you describe. Yes, you can repot and chop the top off. You can propagate the top section if you like and the lower section will branch

    • @omkarsankar1127

      @@plantvibrations Thanks so much. Any tips on how I can propagate the top section? Do I start in water till it grows roots and then plant it into the soil, or can I straight away plant it into the soil with rooting hormone?

    Excellent tutorial. Hopefully, one day, my FLF might have leaves as gorgeous and impressive as yours. I'm new to houseplants, and for the FLF in particular, I am still figuring out the optimum watering schedule for its soil.

    Literally stumbled on this video right when i needed it! So informative, i (I'm sure everyone else does too) totally appreciate it. Thanks for the through walk through re pot lol. What i didn't hear you cover though, is leaf dropping. I have new growth on top and bottom but all the middle leaves just dropped without warning... help!

      @plantvibrations  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! Yes that is something that just happens. Just like the trees in our yards, as they grow tall, the lower leaves drop. Nothing to worry about :)
