He also told mark to get a good look at the back hallway and that was just before the glitch which looks very similar to an alternate imitating a human. The thing that followed Mark home was the alternate imitating Cesar which then killed Mark. When he called the police no one came for him because the police don’t care and only comfort alternates victims until they die.
