I mean thats allways whats happening... Cortex tired of BS tries to stay away from Crash until Uka Uka ruins it all.

You know it Neo Cortex wasn't such a dick towards Crash and trying to kill him. He could have been the weapon specialist for Crash and Coco and a good friend to both of them.
He only considers crash a failure because he’s not mindlessly loyal to cortex. Dude has created life that can operate machinery The hell is he talking about failure?
well, come to think of it, Cortex has been through a lot that make him really stuborn to trust people, first, his own family, making fun about him, and drew an N into his head for a stupid "prank", Crash, as seen in the flashback tapes of Crash 4, was the only thing that Cortex trust with his heart, being like a father to him, after years and years of trust, Crash scapes, in the Coco tapes, Cortex seems really hurt after Crash scaped, thinking that he needs no-one and he will trust no body ever in his life, but maybe someday that mentality will change and will take Crash side.
Getting that Twinsanity nostalgia, and you can tell they're the real deal when they make Cortex shoot with his left hand.
Honestly, they did improve Cortex here. Like he has unlimited ammo, can jump higher, and no longer has that sissy dolphin dive, which has been replaced with the dash jump. I do wish they added strafing and a laser sight for better aiming

That’s a lot of cortex levels
It isn't more or less than the other playable characters. Every playable character, who isn't Crash or Coco, has exactly 5 levels (one introduction level, one timeline level in the sn@xx dimension and three optional timeline levels scattered around different dimensions)
Still better than Twinsanity. Like you only play as him briefly in the air ship, then one long level at the school, then play as him for the final boss. That's pretty lame in my opinion

So Dr. Cortex is like Dr. Doom in Marvel Ultimate Alliance, impossible to reason with even for himself.
Fun Fact: In the Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes (2010), Lex Lang voiced Doom, he also voices Cortex.

What about evolution of playing as a bad guy in crash games? I know a bunch of games where you play as one: Twinsanity, crash boom bang. The Ds( I think) version of crash of the titans, crash bash and this game...... and all the crash racing games.
Crash isn't the only game that does this. You can play as Bowser is several Mario games

It's interesting that the folks who made this game decided to use the early part of Cortex's theme from Crash 3 rather than his main theme from used in the first three games.

This model makes him look,dare i say it,somewhat cute.
His Crash 4 model looks similar to his Titans model
