This video was probably one of my harder ones to do. I think Boys Planet has one of the most consistently strong fanbases from trainees right at the beginning, so many of the answers are very similar...

For me, Gunwook hit me with Tomboy, like, I had always known he was good, but his performance with Tomboy was definitely it for me, that was the moment I actually realized he was that great in singing, rapping and dancing.
Taerae's Man In Love made me fall in love with him, I can't count how many times I went back to his fancam
I was also thinking Tomboy for Gunwook! But i ended up leaning towards his audition

mnet painting Gunwook as intimidating, rude, selfish person, to the point knetz made the whole hate train for him. Turns out he's just the softest cotton ball and being everyone's favorite, even all eliminated trainees keep talking about how kind and talented Gunwook is, that he's actually really cute and how they really like him, even Hui said that Gunwook is the one who took care his mental health in boys planet and Gunwook became his treasure. His fandom seriously amaze me during the final voting tho, the dedication and hardwork they put to make him debut is just insane. I'm so happy he made it, he deserved that spot.
I feel like mnet themselves must have fabricated this arc, even retroactively - the "last words" section even highlighted gunwook's good boy attitude with all his school achievements
I saw one of his so called ex fan who said he had changed from his previous survival show, like he was shy and he became confident and that's why they stopped being his fan... I was so confused 🤣
This season tbh has the most predictable Top 9 but also the most talented. All the 9 had 3 stars or All Stars. Basically they are all at the top of the stage during the signal song

So true, it is quite predictable. Last night i guessed jiwoong, gyuvin and taerae corectly. The camera shooting at them for suspense was quite predictable.

Top 18 are all amazing and talented in their own way. I literally wouldn’t have mind any of them making it. Maybe a little upset if my pick doesn’t, but everyone there deserves it
also zhanghao. OMG
- from the beginning, he had a huge responsibility being chosen as g1 by mentors and trainees, and he received a lot of comments about being 'nugu center' and 'first center to not debut' (because he did not have a previous fanbase like other global trainees who have been on other shows before).
- he showed off his musicality, got all star in kick it, and kept his stars after re-eval.
- he was an amazing leader in ktl and got the highest points + group win (a shame mnet didn't let the winning teams go to countdown here).
- in the second mission, he chose tomboy, and while he did not have main a part, he was able to show how his Korean improved, his rap (yuqis part), and his vocals. he got the highest votes in product history (849) and the group won in the vocal+rap category
- in the third mission, he was leader of the over me team, and he was not only able to show his leadership and vocals, but also got his first killing part. he made sure each of the trainees shined, and choreographed the dance break with his best friend after seeing how little lines he got. he ended getting a tie with haruto (852), and over me team won the artist battle.
- for the finale song he was chosen as the killing part, and became p1 with just a 100k gap from sung hanbin, who was known to be the unbeatable center for his constant ranks.
he's the first foreign trainee to be center in the produce series, and he has been winning from start to end

During group battle: was he that handsome. Why am I so late to realize? And he is hella talented.OMG.

The fact we just knew these people might debut shows how much talented the trainees were this time.
Yeah which is why the finals for BP is hard since all the trainee has a great talent and charisma, they all deserve to debut.

Congratulations to Zhang Hao for making it to the final line-up of ZB1 and first time in Mnet girl/boy group survival show history that a foreigner is on number one spot.
So sad that there is no Japanese in the final line-up.
I wish that Kep1er and ZB1 will have collaboration stage someday.
I'm happy about how positive this video is, I see so many complaints about the line up being only visuals, but I think they are talented and they showed their charisma and got the votes

honestly all of those ppl dont know what they're talking about. if you look at all of their performances they're ALL better than some debuted idols even.
This is first time in a survival show.....that 20 to 25 members are debut material and talented...mnet can't make a team even if they want to make a only visual group.cause except 1 or 2 people who debute others are really deserving.
I honestly won't complain with this line up, even one of my pick isn't in this group. They aren't just handsome, but also talented. Also, I can't find the hole like the previous groups.
It was definitely their visuals that got them there, relative to the other equally, or even more talented trainees in top 18. but this lineup isnt untalented by any means, very cohesive and it works though I'll tell even my future children about the literal grief i felt when keita didn't make it

taerae's man in love is legendary and its the first time in 12 yrs as an inspirit that a performance blows my mind.. usually when it comes to a cover perf i'll watch it once and skip, but taerae's performance keeps making me go back to watch it
No fr. Its the first time ive had a song from a survival show end up in one of my playlists. And one of my main playlists at that. I, along with everyone else, was super impressed with his vocals and *the* best smile in the world. Im very happy he made it in the debut line 🤗🤗

Zhang Hao definitely caught my attention during the auditions. Covering the higher part of any NCT 127 song is hard, but especially Kick It because you have to keep that crunchy dissonance for it to be right even though it sounds off and everything as a trained musician or vocalist would tell you it has to be wrong, and he Nailed it. I'm glad he got center in ZB1.
It’s kinda funny that just less than half of the boys have NCT’s Kick It to thank. It’s probably one of the smartest audition song choice an agency has in a survival show

this shows how important first impressions are! also in past produce series theres usually been a member that was kinda terrible at the beginning but improved over time, i suppose mnet would've been involved in that (no shade at all to anyone specific) but with this lineup (and all 18 in the final) every one of them had incredible skills and deserved to make their debut. i have really high hopes for this group :)
Taerae was always a doubt for me, but when he did man in love I died!! EVERY TIME that I watch this stage I want to cry and I get goosebumps

I KNEW ZHANG HAO WAS GONNA DEBUT I LOVE HIM AS A VERY BAISED PERSON THAT PLAYS THE VIOLIN
I’m so happy with this line up. A few of my faves didn’t make it but this is the line up I anticipated. Visuals are crazy with this group but also talented. I’m so happy Gunwook made it. He’s been my one pick since the preview of episode 1 and the last few episodes we were going through it because his ranking was always on the edge. And Zhang Hao captured my heart when he played that violin.
Taerae was my one pick even before the 1st episode of boys planet because of his 1 min PR video. His voice and smile❤

I didn't expect Ricky and Gunwook to debut. And I jawdropped when I watched Zhang Hao getting the P01 spot.
Zhang Hao really stood out for me in kill this love, I know it was Matthew's era, but i felt like that aesthetic was made just for Zhang Hao
I think everyone in the line up were practically "hinted" of debuting from the start... Cause idk if its just my gut feeling but I knew about 6/9 of the ones on the lineup were likely to debut... I think its mostly as well because of the Talent the trainees already had and also their popularity from the start. Idk if I'll stan the group but this lineup is one of the best line ups from survival shows. They all have the visuals, talents, and popularity so I'm pretty sure they"ll be on about the same level as Enhypen before they disband. Good luck to all the members! Fighting!
There were so many trainees and hard to remember everyone but the first time I noticed Taerae was in that performance! I remember retweeting that exact Taerae clip with "taerae let's debut!" T_T
My opinion:
Sung Hanbin - Here I am (there has yet to be a Signal Song Centre who didn’t end up making the group, and yes I’m counting Gaeun who was rigged out)
Zhang Hao - Here I Am (same as Hanbin. All signal song centres made the group)
Seok Matthew - When his Jelly Pop fancam went head to head with Zhang Hao’s in views (Matthew dropped to 9th the week before and many of his fans started to panic that he might not make the lineup. However he proved he had a very strong global 1pick fanbase when he nearly beat Zhang Hao in Jelly Pop views+likes. For me that was the moment when I knew Matthew was debuting for sure and his fans were panicking for nothing)
Ricky - When he was announced as 4th place (Not many people expected Ricky to debut and those who did thought he would be borderline. When 6th-8th place was announced and Ricky wasn’t there many of his fans gave up or began hoping for P09. He definitely surprised a lot of people by not just debuting but also ranking highly at 4th. I don’t think anyone really knew he was going to debut until we heard his name get called)
Kim Jiwoong - Back Door (Managed to rank 1st place in his group just by showing his abs even though he basically had no lines. Successfully led his team to MCountdown, proving that he’s more than just a visual)
Park Gunwook - Kill This Love (Although Gunwook got a lot of screentime in Episode 1 the way they portrayed him was a bit dubious. It was only during Kill This Love where Gunwook got a good storyline of being the “maknae leader” who unexpectedly also has a soft heart. After that edit I knew he was debuting for sure)
Kim Taerae - Man In Love (Taerae skyrocketed to #3 in K votes after his Man In Love performance, through Man In Love he was able to solidify himself as the K fans’ primary Main Vocal pick)
Kim Gyuvin - When he ranked 7th place in the 3rd round voting (Although Gyuvin was popular from the start many started thinking he might not debut when he dropped to 16th in the 3rd round interim. However he managed to climb back to 7th indicating he had a strong fanbase and also managed to go viral for having good synergy with Somi, who later promoted him on Instagram. Afterwards I was certain he was going to debut)
Han Yujin - Audition (he went viral for his visuals after his audition. Throughout the show he had one of the most crazy fanbases - an indication of a likely debut - and it all started with that first audition

I think ricky was popular even before the show started...I rmbr many calling him Kim lip as well...but obviously those pictures need to go down drain ...anyways...I think ricky really secured his fandom with that 1min PR...and he could've gotten into top 9 earlier if again and again his team would not have gotten evil editted
1) man in love is where i decided that id be okay w taerae in the line up
2) gunwook took some time for me but it was totally en garde
3) for me ricky was sort of, I'll say, cringe during most of the show but tbh seeing him smiling with the other zb1 members, it made me happy and i knew the camraderie would make me warm up to him
4) zhanghao was kill this love 100000% the moment i saw that performance he was constantly on my mind
5) hanbin was his tutting with the dance master and seeing videos of him in predebut, it was so easy to fall in love with him as a trainee and I'm so happy for him
For me it was:
Yujin: since the star level test. Mnet made sure to pay attention to specifically yujin
Jiwoong: since the star level test. So many people were automatically in love
Gyuvin: since he moved from 16th into the top 9 after panic voting in the semifinals
Taerae: Man in love (need I say more)
Gunwook: oddly enough, gunwook in en garde really captured me to the point I started voting for him. I noticed him during the star level test but because he was always just off of top 9, I didn’t think he’d debut
Ricky: “young and rich, tall and handsome”
Matthew: star level test but it didn’t solidify for me until kill this love stage
Hanbin: star level test and the fact that he was K group center for signal song and we all know that’s a lucky position
Zhang Hao: I thought he was gonna get evil edited tbh so I didn’t think he would surely debut until the kill this love stage. One of the best stages.
All in all, I’m in love with this lineup and congrats to our first official foreign center🎉🎉🎉
I was waiting for this!! ZB1 is really stacked and although I am disappointed some of my faves didn’t make it, it was a pretty tough competition because literally EVERYONE is so good
For Gyuvin, I think it's when he was called as 7th in the last elimination. He was always popular but was never given much screentime or anything, so when he fell down to 16th that week it was a little like "oh?? maybe he's not so popular?". And then when he ranked 7th later that week it felt like it was decided that he wouldn't fall out of top 9 again
For Ricky I think it's either back door or over me when he really got to show off his skills and not just do "young and rich tall and handsome" that proved he would debut. yeah he was popular from just his PR video but then with back door and over me he showed that he has star quality on stage too
For Gunwook I DISAGREE SO HARD I didn't know he would debut until they called him as 5th 😭😭 I loved him in all his stages but I think he was the most unexpected for a lot of people because he was never ranked above 9th
i love this lineup! I'm only sad that Seungeon didn't make it, but I'll be waiting for his debut! My bias will probably be matthew as he was my 2nd placer after Seungeon :)
In my opinion:
From the beginning/audition - Hao, HanBin, Yujin (the talent and support)
Ricky - Over Me (I know he has a huge fan base but he definitely cemented his place with this performance)
Jiwoong - either Backdoor or Say My name (say my name is where I saw he can do fresh/bubbly concept)
Gyuvin - En Garde for me, I think that performance would have been better if he was the center,
Taerae - No doubt it’s Man in love (probably one, if not most iconic moment - that smile while singing shot)
Gunwook - Tomboy performance (definitely took me some time to warm up to him but he became cute)
Matthew - say my name? I think? He was good in Kill this love but I for me he was 5/6 in that group) I think he matured quite a bit after that say my name hurdle.
I'm so happy with the lineup.
They all are talented and skillful.

jiwoong: started the show because of him, I watched his drama, loveeee him

gunwook: he became my pick since the first time he showed up, really strong presence. then he became my main pick after his video visiting his ads on the subway, I fell in love

This show have two centers concept. K-Center(Korean) and G-Center(Global). So actually Zhang Hao is also the first center and he just didn’t get the killing part for theme song.

Ok line up problem, indeed I'm a bit annoyed. But please support those who are about to debut, instead of hating them, and saying they don't deserve to debut. gunwook's is definitely tomboy, not the audition. although the audition gave a really strong impression, he didn't really blow up or get the attention until tomboy. might i add the biggest evidence on this: gunwook was never in the top 9 rankings UNTIL the tomboy performance (ep 7, and then he got into top 9 for the first time in ep 8)
I notice taerae when man in love. I never know him before because i focused with my picks, and people comment about taerae and from this i know him

I think gunwook's was tomboy and jiwoong, although he was v popular since auditions, the love killa stage kind of really solidified his debut I'd say

I don’t feel safe anywhere else, so I'll just say it here :) I personally think the other 9 contestants who couldn’t make are more suitable/stronger. EVERYONE is talented, but top 10-18 seem to have stronger creative skills and sections each of them is highly/mainly skilled at (Ex- Hui in vocal or Keita in rap). Tbh the other 9 trainees would be perfect as a group. I wish them nothing but success in their career.
Also, the top 9 are really deserving after the experience they went through. I wish them a successful debut ❤

agree with everything but for me taeraes moment was his forhead in backdoor ... I was like damn who is this , and I liked his singing so much in backdoor so yip ^^

8/9 top 9 actually made it except for Keita. I was so shook when Ricky was called as P04, I really underestimated his fanbase. But I'm satisfied with the line up, they suit each other well. ZB1 all the very best!

actually, i think EN GARDE was crucial for gyuvin, was the song that he had most lines and the time that he got so much screentime, many knetz believed that he was the killing part and being the most voted in the group increased that thought, only when the ep came out they knew it was gunwook

I admit I started watching bp bc of Ricky’s pr and I thought his skills were average and that he was just a very sweet fun person but his singing in over me threw me off like I didn’t know he could sing?!?!

even tho mnet was never good to chinese trainees and they accept them just to not be controversial and to have some drama around, and bp was no exception they stayed in their snake form like always, I was worried that hao might be rigged he deserves to debut, he is so good and a hard worker, I was so happy when he got what he deserves

Yeah exactly! I felt a bit weird about my thoughts, especially considering most contestants prove their talents during the show or the missions, however, for BP, the top 9 was already quite.. obvious? from the pre-show PR and the auditions.
The group’s name is so cringe but it does have good meaning. I will still stan them though! Cause my 1pick Hao made it with his Bin, matthew and jiwoong too ❤
