Yes as per philosophy you are correct, we are souls nothing else.
But due to adharma, abrahamic religions onslaught against Sanatana Dharma or Hinduism, we are forcefully set into the bracket of religion for our identity crisis. In Bangladesh and Pakisthan lots of Iskcon temples are destroyed and deities being vandalised it's our innate duty to get united and fight against these kaliyuga demons. Even Krishna's birthplace itself not spared. Yatha yatha hi dharmasya glanir bhavathi bharatha or paritraya sadhunam vinasaya dushkrutham.
Philosophy wise we must keep that in our mind but as an identity we are hindus in this world without doubt. The world and enemies and fellow hindus recognize you like that only. If something happens to you, it's the hindus who raise voice for you. This is the reality, live in reality with smartness besides practicing our philosophy, Khastriya dharma sometimes require. @@hsram1985 Krishna consciousness is a separate style of loving Krishna, no gopal, gopika know the rituals of hindhuism, it's pure love, let me detail this a story in bhaagvata, once sri krishna got headache, no medicine was able to cure his headache, then Narada came and told solution is to apply his devotees feet dust on krishna forehead as a medicine, none came forward in his courtyard including his wives in fear of sin, then a group of gopikas came to the court to see lord krishna, after hearing the story, with no second thought, they extracted the feet dust and applied immediately and lord krishna released from his headache, when asked gopikas about their sin accumulation fears, they boldly said they don't worry about it as their Krishna relief is their most wanted desire at the spur of the moment, Krishna thru this Leela he clearly mentioned that worshiping him does not have any restrictions and boundaries, hence it is named as Krishna consciousness means realise Krishna is there in every one and every where... Please refer to bhagavatha, Jai Sri Krishna, he always stays in the lotus hearts of his devotees 🙏
