- Was inspired to make this amv after I heard this song. I wanted to show some of the darker atmospheric moments in the show.
Most people think that One Piece is childish, but wheeeew boy are they wrong. It gets dark. Doflamingo's backstory is pretty fucking rough man. He's a great villain.

The chances for Ace to survive wouldn’t be greater. Besides he is a pirate and is always in danger. stills it’s so sad that crazy prisoners escaped from that prison to be with Marshal D Teach. And it’s sad little Low met of all the people Doflamingo’s subordinate when he tried to make an errand with marine that Rosinante asked him to make. They could both escaped. But Low is freed from all evil now, thanks to Rosinante.

When it comes to One Piece, I feel like all the characters are competing for the unfortunate crown of 'Most Tragic Backstory Ever'! These guys act all goofy most of the time but damn, the shit they went through was beyond fucked up!
Law's is easily the most tragic backstory. The least tragic is zoro's compared to everyone else, but its still sad

1:51 moments gives quite an impact to me. Despite how evil and cold Doflamingo is, that scene still show killing his last close relatives still shakes him. This makes him more human despite inherently evil. Nicely done.

Finally a good new AMV. Most amvs lately have been one of two Thousand Foot Krutch songs with little to no cinematography. This on the other hand was well crafted, the timing with visuals and the music was spot on, and it actually relays the emotions of the book/show. Excellent work.

Luffy giving Nami his hat to hold is one of my favorite one piece moments.
Despair,madness,tragedy,death,family,slavery,torture and more all of these are hidden under a light screen of joy and smiles.
One Piece is not a dark anime for sure.
To me this anime is filled with HOPE. Not only a members of the crew but also thousands of people around Luffy and such people as he is( Shanks, The Whitebeard), are given hope, light and a new kind of life. As for my opinion, even such a character as Don Flamingo can change at least a little after his acquaintance with Luffy.
If to pay attention to music in openings even there it’s quite understandable that Luffy is not going to leave anybody behind not only his friends but also his foes. For example, in opening 15 We Go, it’s sang ‘ not leaving anybody behind’ at the same time the face of Hody is shown. Hody fell a victim to the hatred people and fishmen had towards each other.
Remember how Luffy protected his former foe Bellamy from Don Flamingo?
He is giving not only hope but also a common sense to those who lost it because of the darkness of the world.
Or in the arc about Big Mom did not you noticed that they turned a lot of their foes into a friends? It’s Katakuri and Charlotte Pudding for example! And it’s interesting that in opening of that arc (21op, We have superpowers) there is words like ‘you are your biggest enemy’. Which corresponds with the life mugiwara crew lead: they live for others, ready to sacrifice their dreams and lives for the one they love, they found a bigger Treasure- they found each other. And Luffy has a great sense of justice.
I also remember that when he was In Enies Lobby and was jumping down on the train to reach the other side where Robin was, he was saying to himself ‘ just like Shanks saved me, now I’m saving my friend.’ I guess that’s what meant Shanks when said to him to bring straw hat back to him when he become a splendid pirate ( from Japanese the word ‘rippana’ which is splendid can be also translated as proper, right).
Luffy is a great pirate who is worthy to be the King. Luffy fights against the darkness of the world not just some regular people and enemies.
Luffy said he is not gonna rule over when he is a King, He is gonna be the person with the most freedom. And I see that his freedom is that he is free of himself, ready to live for others, not leaving anybody behind which actually makes him a perfect King to whom a lot of people would naturally just become faithful with gratitude in their hearts.
I've watched this anime 2 times, some arcs even 4 times, and the more I watched it the more I was thinking like that:
Luffy is like a sincere christian whose Treasure is what Shanks made for him and he wants to be like Shanks. People are his Treasure and that is how it is for Jesus who died for people. A lot of pirates seek for treasure chests, not understanding what the real treasure is. And a lot of cristians are like that. And if to look closely The Pirites have a mark with cross-like bones which is a symbol of death and it's interesting that a place where Jesus died translates as a Skull. I guess that's the meaning to be free of yourself, when you are not the biggest person on the scene, but there are other people for you. And the mark of The World Government also has a cross-like shape, but without bones, and I often remember when look at it how a religion often take a wrong course forgetting the most crucial things- LOVE FOR OTHERS, not love for yourself, which often just become a standard 'I love myself the most, it's a sin not to love myself, I am the right one, I am in control, I will punish those who disagree with me.' And here I remember the words Don Flamingo who became an outcast to both sides of barricades said ' Justice? Those who win is the Justice itself and that's a criteria for what the justice is'.
Fortunately, I think The Power Luffy has is a bigger power. It's The Power of LOVE.
Don Flamingo had a brother who was fortunate to find a person who became like a father to him. It is really important to have somebody who loves you. And even though he had the same trauma Don Flamingo did, He chose the light, he died protecting the one he loved showing to him there is Justice, there is Love.

I’m not that far into one piece, just at the Alabasta arc, so this doesn’t make all too much sense to me, but it does for sure inspire me to keep binge watching one piece, heck I’m pretty sure it’s gonna become my second or third fav anime. Saw someone with some of this edit in their AMV, it really annoys me that they post other peoples content and get thousands and views and subs for nothing. This is a beautiful piece, matched and edited wonderfully to the song and I hate when they take masterpieces and slap it to whatever song and claim it to be an AMV.

This is one show, where if you look at the world from the eyes of antagonist, their actions will be justified as well. There are no Villains. All are simply victim of their own tragedies and circumstances.Anyone who thinks One piece is for kids, either is ignorant or a child themselves.
