Can't you just use these without the pushing part? Just go to his side and get out?

Hi Jonathan Cagle - thank you for your comment. In an ideal world yes, you would do it without a push. But if your opponent isn't committed to stepping forward with his punches adding the push puts you in a better position.

yes u can, or it would be wise to clinch because if u just move to the side they can still punch u and put u in the corner again.
