    1.11 Update (11/9/2023): Harm events by default only target AI. Odds of surviving are increased (e.g. 80% fail / 20% succeed to 40% fail / 60% succeed). Overall chance of getting harm event reduced. So you don't need to worry about this option anymore, it's an optional, masochistic, game setting.

      @brandonmartin5785 As DecrepitBiden mentioned (thank you!), I married a spouse with high stewardship. This is because in the 'Council' tab if your spouse is not a ruler, they will provide you extra skill points depending on what you select. By default, the spouse's 'assist ruler' option gives 20% of their skill points versus if you pick a specific skill they will provide 50% of the skill along with some additional bonuses that aren't listed! So I married a spouse with 28 stewardship skill and I chose 'manage domain' for my spouse so she will give me +14 stewardship, bringing me from 8 stewardship to 22 stewardship. For every 6 points of stewardship, you get +1 domain limit so at 8 stewardship I only get +1, but at 22 stewardship I get +3 which is how I went from +4 to +6.
      Sorry for the belated response, responses to responses is still the toughest for me to find since I don't get any normal notification!

    I remember getting into CK3 around when it came out and thinking it was so cool, but I was so overwhelmed by everything in the game that I just ended up losing or making no progress.
    It was only until I watched several very long CK2 video series did I understand CK mechanics and past that it still took several 100 hours to really be decent at the game.

    Oops! I guess I'm a little thick headed. I thought the first attempt to revoke title is enough so I did that, fought, imprisoned the earl. I was happy I controlled Ormond so i ransomed him. Noticed he's back in charge. Rinse and repeat. Except i executed him. Ah.. Rinse and repeat with his heir. Then i revoked his title in actuality. Lessons learned but once I took Desmond in at - 50 for tyranny 😅

      The game is complicated and takes some time to get used to, I couldn't get past 1 county because I didn't even know what a casus belli was. 1 year later I picked the game back up and I think they polished their tutorial so I finally learned how to conquer land haha.

      @@breadgodgaming Thanks for the encouragement! I started my second attempt today and I made myself the High King of all of Ireland. I was going to get the first succession law change but my first character died and I'm going to have to figure out how I'm managing the fractured country.

    • @breadgodgaming
      @breadgodgaming  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Nice job! Were you going to get the partition succession law? If you can get election law on your duchy titles your heir will inherit the titles.

    • @paavohirn3728
      @paavohirn3728 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@breadgodgaming I used tanistry in Ulster and Munster. I lost the High King title for a generation but got it back. I got a piece of Scotland and lost all but one county. I got kingdom of Wales except Denmark held one duchy. I lost most of that with no idea what happened 😆
      Now I have a relatively weak ailing king of Ireland who inherited at the age of fifty. For some reason my player heir switched from his son to his brother so there will be two short reigns back to back. Turns out my strongest, wisest character was his father's brother a bastard 😅
      It's a fun and surprising game! And at least I've held those two duchies and have managed to keep the High King elections in my favor for a few generations. There's still a lot to learn.

      Thanks for the support! I’m glad you found it helpful. The only thing I know about console is it slightly lags behind Pc in terms of updates and release but overall it plays similar. The biggest difference I think is that there’s an auto battle feature, which id recommend not using as the AI isn’t the greatest

      @paavohirn3728 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@breadgodgaming Thanks for the reply! I didn't know there's an auto battle mode. So that would mean AI moves the armies around the map? I noticed the first hurdle playing on ps5 has been to figure out the controls as they are far from intuitive, extremely clunky even when you begin to figure it out. Combined with the complexity of the game and how it differs on a fundamental level from most strategy games makes it quite acquired taste. I'm hopeful the awesomeness of it continues to outweigh the frustrations 😅

    Great guide by the way.

    • @breadgodgaming
      @breadgodgaming  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you for your kind words! I don't have any experience with playing on console. But if automated armies are basically what the regular CK3 AI would do, then they are not optimal where you can use smart positioning / baiting tactics to overpower a similar / larger enemy. When the difference is huge, then AI will beat itself fine but if it's close or you are in an outnumbered situation, taking control should be better off. E.g. if you're outnumbered slightly you can camp on a mountain terrain or across a river and the AI may underestimate the advantage difference. Or if you're super outnumbered, you could have one army full of siege weapons to siege down the enemy capital/holdings while you have a small army bait the AI armies to go on a wild goose chase / buy your siege army time

    Another great tip would`ve been to introduce the console. There`s no need for people, especially the impatient ones, to go through paradox game developers personal mental issues = the event systems and it`s cursed events... You can just undo most of them through the console, that way you could, potentially, have a decent game as opposed to this arcade, moronic, semi - immature carnage of a game you have (even more so with all the dlcs)

      @@breadgodgaming is there a good way to deal with alliances as I got a issues where I accepted all the wars because I didn't want to lose a level of fame. It ended up dragging me into too many wars. I got overwhelmed and lost battles.

    • @breadgodgaming
      @breadgodgaming  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can accept the wars and just not help them. If they require assistance, at the very least you can go siege something for a few days with a few troops and immediately return to get yourself just a little war contribution.
      Other than killing one of the persons in the marriage tying you two together or the ally ruler, there's no way to break an alliance :(
      Generally, I would use the minimum amount of alliances possible and instead marry for genetics / good courtiers or knights.
