Dr. Sebastian, have you had success with treating patients with thoracic osteophytes and stenosis? My back is really bad and I want to avoid any surgery. Thank you!
Nice
Glad i found this channel. Doc besides having lower back discomfort and sciatica pain....i have a bone spur at l 2/3 compressing my nerve effecting my thighs and hamstring s... can prp do anything to improve my life? I was told i needed a fusion and laminectomy
PRP treatment of the whole spinal unit (muscles, ligaments, joints and nerves) can be a very effective treatment for back pain and nerve pain in the leg/thigh. It is a great alternative to surgery, but it is not miraculous, and therefore it may not be adequate in some severe conditions. It is best to get a consultation to determine if you are a candidate for PRP of the spine: integrativerehabmedicine.com/naples-fort-myers-bonita-springs-spine-pain-treatment
Really liked your treatment but does it work for
Ankylosing spondylitis
Ankylosing spondylitis is an inflammatory condition of the spine. PRP can resolve chronic inflammation and provide long term back pain relief in some cases. You also need to decrease any inflammation from your diet and other exposures.

I cant Imagine the recovery . Iv had prp in my shoulder and abdominal wall and prp is really painful and often leaves you weaker and more prone to
Injury after for a while. I’d say atleast 3 months to feel normal ish and maybe 8 to really see if I can do physical exercise more freely.
The first 6 weeks mostly is just waiting for fullness and pains to go away. I’d be scared about doing ligaments all over my spine bc I would sssume I’d be too weak and fragile to move around like that without aggravating the areas treated .
When I did my shoulder it took a very long time to feel normal after all the injections
Not sure who did you did your injections and how they were performed. Most patient recover from the pain after spinal PRP injections within one week, the shoulder typically takes 2 weeks. You need to support the healing with proper diet, therapy, we also use lasers and other modalities to speed up healing.
Dr magaziner was one who retired and another is one who’s name I forget but has been doing it for about 2 decades .
The pain Iv heard is usually 6 weeks for recovery although the second doc told me only 2 weeks and I could do some exercise which was way too soon . The first doc did all around my shoulder joint, multiple injections around the most tendons . With all that inflammation and irritation I don’t know how anyone could feel comfortable so quick unless it’s very very Little prp. It sounds it heals as slowly as stem cells do which can take almost a year to see full benefits. I could attest to that , my injuries were no way near healed after a couple of weeks, it took almost a year to really see what was going on. And definitely way more fragile and weak due to the new injury if the injection
Stem cells works best. Glad it working out for her..I have done both stem cells and PRP
Bone marrow stem cells and PRP are a wonderful nonsurgical treatment of the spine for conditions such as back pain, sciatica (radiculopathy), stenosis and degenerated discs. Bone marrow stem cell treatments are a little more powerful than PRP, but often PRP is adequate.

@@sebastianklisiewiczintegra9805does it help to regenerate the disc ? MRI says mild bulge but it irritates the nerve and causes horrible pain.
I have a 7.5mm disc protrusion in my L5 in addition to a 5.6mm protrusion in L4 - would you recommend this procedure?
PRP lysate epidural injections can help the body deal with a disc protrusion, and may be an effective treatment for sciatica (lumbar radiculopathy), check out this case series in the medical literature: www.degruyter.com/document/doi/10.7556/jaoa.2020.032/html
Sometimes, this may not be enough,
You can do an intradiscal ozone to help decrease the protrusion (nucleolysis procedure), many articles out there supporting this, here is one:

Dr. I have three mild annular tears at L3/L4, L4/L5 and L5/S[ as a result of an injury a year ago. No leg pain only low back pain. Would this procedure help? Thanks
In my Estero (Southwest FL) clinic, I typically treat annular tears with Discseel procedure plus PRP. The Discseel uses a biological glue (fibrin) to seal the tears and stimulate disc healing. The PRP then is used in the epidural space and for the joints/ligaments to help with spinal stability.

What about Para-vertebral intramuscular platelet rich plasma for herniated disc?
Paravertebral PRP can help improve the health and strength of the supporting muscles of the spine. This can strengthen the lower back and help protect the lumbar herniated discs. Other treatments such as disceel or PRP lysate epidural may be more effective at treating herniated discs. How i wish this is done here in Philippines. Ortho doctors here are using this treatment only for knee treatment but not for the back
PRP is very effective at treating back pain and sciatica. There is plenty of evidence supporting its benefits, therefore it should be available everywhere. @@sebastianklisiewiczintegra9805 unfortunately Dr. there is no doctor here in the Philippines that is using prp for treating back pain.😔.
are prp facet joint injections injected directly into the facet synovial capsul joint or just around it? also how do you know you are inside the joint and how much fluid to inject?
PRP injections are an effective treatment for chronic back pain from facet arthritis. PRP can be injected around the joint or aimed inside the facet joint with the ultrasound or X-ray, can be confirmed with contrast (if using X-ray), usually 1-2 mLs of PRP goes into a facet joint. Might PRP help improve spinal cord injuries?
PRP is a great treatment for back pain and sciatica, but unfortunately, there is no evidence it yet has a place in treating spinal cord injuries.
Dear Doctor I am suffering from chronic upper back pain that shoots in the upper from chest area - the ribs. And my right shoulder and neck are victims. Will this treatment help? You mentioned that epidural is injected, is there an alternative for it?
Epidural injections with PRP and selective nerve root blocks with PRP can be effective at treating nerve pain from a pinched nerves (sciatica, radiculopathy). This, along with treating the facet joints, ligaments and muscles can be an effective treatment upper back, neck and shoulder pain. integrativerehabmedicine.com/naples-fort-myers-bonita-springs-spine-pain-treatment
No Fear. I had PRP done recently on RT Deltoid and Bicep tendon. I only felt a slight pinch. No different than when giving blood. The slight soreness left after 3-5 days.
I was nervous about using a local for my upcoming L5-S1 area PRP but after watching this I'm good to go. Thx Doc!🤙🏽
I had this done little over a week ago, blew out my L5 putting little girl in her car seat 😂, anyone who does this in the future have a heating pad or a way to put heat on that area when you get home, it feels like a handful of small balloons in your back getting air in them then slowly deflating themselves. Im only 32 yrs old and don’t have back pain on the daily like some others may, considering my career I was optimistic on trying this to not have any more issues down the road.. I recommend it. But once again make sure you have a heating pad. Thank me later 😅
@@joshculp8428 Roger that. I just got both knees done this past Thursday. Ice and heat did the trick. I only needed a cane slightly for 1 day.
Update: During the last 30 days I've had PRP injections done on RT Deltoid and Bicep, both Knees, both Ankles and Achilles Tendons, and 6 injections just now in Low Back. I am now a Super Soldier. 🔥🤙🏽💯
May i ask? I had intradiscal prp injection at my L4 L5 dessicated disc with annular tear, and also prp injection in my facet joint. Its been a week now but i still have pain, tingling and numbness in my legs, buttocks, and groin area. How long will the prp injections take effect?
Intradiscal injections of PRP or bone marrow stem cells are a great treatment for dessicated and degenerated discs with annular tears. This work best when it is combined with PRP or stem cell injection of the facet joints, ligaments and lumbar muscles. It may take 2-3 months to notice improvement from such a regenerative spine treatment. You need to support it proper protection of the spine, specific therapy and a good diet. integrativerehabmedicine.com/back-pain-relief-treatment-naples-fort-myers-fl

How are you? Did it work?
By the way I have 3 heirnated discs spinal stenosis and disc disease
What about PRP for upper cervical in-stability? Will it thicken and strengthen the ligaments and tendons?
PRP and prolotherapy injections are a great treatment for cervical instability or any spinal laxity. PRP and prolotherapy can strengthen ligaments and muscles, decrease pain and increase cervical spine stability.

This looks really painful. Wish you could do this under general anesthesia.
I have done hundreds of PRP treatments of the spine (lumbar spine, cervical spine). Everyone tolerates it well, I numb up the area with lidocaine and ropivacaine, we use nitrous gas and pain medications, this make the procedure well tolerated. PRP for back pain is a better option than surgery or steroid injection. See more info one spine treatments: integrativerehabmedicine.com/naples-fort-myers-bonita-springs-spine-pain-treatment
Is it normal to feel sore after getting the injection?
PRP injections of the lumbar spine will cause temporary back pain and soreness, this should improve in ~ 1 week.

This may sound crazy but do they put u to sleep... doing this procedure... I'm soooo over this pain😢..it hurts sooooo bad & very hard to deal with on a daily basis
PRP injection procedure of the lumbar spine is safe and very well tolerated. We use pre-procedure pain medications, nitrous (laughing) gas during the procedure and the area is anesthesized with lidocaine.

Nice, volume of injection for root ,facet joints, sij ,
Platerel lysate epidural injection is an effective treatment for radiculopathy (sciatica) and herniated discs, I typically use 4-5 pls of lysate per root. PRP also is an effective treatment for lumbar facet joints and SI joints, I use ~ 2-3 pls in and around the spinal joints.

May i ask? I have a dessicated disc at L4 L5, and tingling in my legs, buttocks and groin area. Is this treatment enough? Do i need to have intradiscal prp injection in my dessicated disc?
PRP injection of lumbar facet joints, ligament and muscles along with lumbar epidural injection w platelet lysate can be a very effective treatment for back pain, sciatica and tingling in the legs, even with degenerated discs. Often, such a PRP treatment is enough. Sometimes we do need to treat the spinal disc with bone marrow stem cells and other products such as fibrin to help heal the tears and improve the health of a disc. I will be posting a video of my lumbar disc treatment very soon.

How many shots total? I heard it should be a maximum of 5 to 8
A comprehensive lumbar spine treatment with PRP may be 20-30 injections. This treatment is based on prolotherapy principle of treating the whole spinal tensegrity unit. The PRP injections need to be precisely placed around the facets, lamina, multifid muscles and SI joint ligaments.. @@sebastianklisiewiczintegra9805 ok im asking cuz a friend of mine only had like 5 shots and he's back 100 percent
Good, but the radioscopy isn’t necessary. Your performance with Ultrasound is better .
Your comment wasnt necessary.
IF YOUR GIVING HET A EPIDURAL THATS WHY SHES FEELING BETTER NOT THE PRP UOU NEED TO DONIT SEPARATELY YO SEE IF IT TEALKY HELPED
Epidural injection with PRP (platelet lysate) is an effective treatment for sciatica (radiculopathy). It works best when the whole spinal unit is treated (all the ligaments and joints) as there is often lumbar facet joint pain and other contributors to the back pain. integrativerehabmedicine.com/naples-fort-myers-bonita-springs-spine-pain-treatment

Why the epidural? That is a hazardous agent.
An epidural with platelet lysate (broken up platelets made from PRP) can help decrease nerve inflammation and make the nerve more functional. PRP lysate epidural are safe when done by a spine specialist. This is NOT a hazardous agent, steroids on the other hand, have more side effects, that is why I do not use steroid epidural injections.
