To study for english I always had a system to deconstruct the play/book/poem/ etc and put it back together. It's like a mind map, but instead of the centre being the protagonist or plot I use the main message conveyed from the given text. I branch off using characters (their purpose in the main message and their influence on the plot). Some do it chapter by chapter; but regardless I always add page numbers to reference a specific section. So I guess it would be like taking the references you marked in your book and laying it all out and trying to fit them together. Wow this turned out to be a longer explanation than I thought. Anyways, good luck!

To revise for English. I often make summaries of the chapters on flashcards. One side summary with the other side holding important quotes from the chapter. I also make character profiles with quotes and main ideas about those characters.

Well I wouldn't recommend using EnerGel refills in Jetstream pens, Alpha Gel version or not.
I have a standard Jetstream 0.7 blue pen. I liked the grip, the EnerGel refills also fit, but it seems they have a pretty tight fit.
The Jetstream refills are quite slim as compared to the fat EnerGel ones. So I guess that's why they don't feel good while writing.
As for the Alpha Gel grip, it might be that it's pretty firm on purpose, I have a Uni Kuru Toga Alpha Gel pencil, and the grip isn't as squishy as a regular Alpha Gel pencil. But it's still okay though, I hold my pens too close to the tip that sometimes I disregard the grip section altogether, but this pencil is very comfortable even for my needs.
By the way, thank you so much for introducing your franken pen idea (EnerGel refills in Zebra Sarasa bodies!) You really helped me solve my writing problems in no time! (They'd bugged me all those years in school, now I'm in uni and I'm finally okay.)
    Much love! xoxo

hmm good to know! and I’m glad to help 😊💖

    • @suprajasaravanan6500
      @suprajasaravanan6500 6 ปีที่แล้ว

@sergio ochoa The Jetstream is a ballpoint pen, but it's more of a hybrid formula. The ink feels a tad bit oily, hence you need to watch out for blobbing.
The energel is amazing! It's a really nice pen and dries fast enough for no smears. I love the energel because for me it works well over correction tape and fluid. It dries fast enough for them, so no smears.
So at this point, it's more of personal preference. If you want ballpoint pens, the Jetstream is the best in the market right now. If you prefer gel pens, the energels are great.
But one downside with energels and jetstreams is that they tend to be a bit expensive and probably hard to get, depending on where you live. I recommend browsing through ebay and amazon (ebay is better mostly) if you don't have access to jetpens and so on.
One good thing about ebay is that pens and refills are often sold in bulk, so you might find some good deals out there.
I'm soooooo sorry for the late response. You might have already gotten your answer, but here's a piece of my thoughts as well. Have a nice day! :)

I would say that an effective way to study for English is to get an idea of what the test/quiz consists of and make an outline or a plan based on this information. This is what works for me, but I don’t know what resources you receive. I am allowed to use any handwritten notes and of course, the book. I hope his helps at least a little! 😌

Brooke H. Personally, I take notes on everything that I think may play an important role later on in the book. This could be a bad habit but at least I know I just have to go back and study what I already have. Another tip could be to color code your notes. I hope this helps! ☺️

for english literature, i recommend making quote banks for different characters and themes. if your friends do the same texts as you, test each other once a day/few days on different themes or characters and each give a quote. to improve essay writing, read exemplar responses and write your own responses to the questions the exemplars answer. you can usually find mark schemes online. my english teacher is massive on tips for revision, and these are my fave, but if you want any more tips i have loads. i hope this is helpful!

When i was in honors english junior year of high school, i would make a summary outline of each of the chapters in case they had questions on plot and then made notes i had from annotations in my books and anything my teacher noted in class. I would then read through this review sheet and also write out the sections on annotations and what my teacher said in class.

Usually for english I study based on the content on the quiz/test. If I know it’s going to be more based on the actual plot of the book and information in it, flipping through the book and using sparknotes helps a lot. If the quiz/test is more concept based, I usually study by mind mapping and listing main themes and ideas and connecting examples from the book along with it. I hope this helps ❤️

2:45 believe me just note down all the possible questions and write notes for each.as if it were a real answer. When revising write the essays and get them corrected. That's the most important thing, ur teachers opinion on ur ability really helps u figure out what u r lacking and work on those aspects

I find the best way to study for English essays is to look at past exams and look at what gets you the points. Write down in bulletpoints the key things you need for an essay (this should be quite general). After that, look at the book you’re studying and take as many notes as you can even if you think you won’t use them, they may be useful. This is when you can start to narrow some things down and separate certain quotes into themes. This personally helps me a lot and the most important thing is practice, practice, practice.

To study for language tests about pieces of literature, lit-charts are a really great way to study and review. You can look up about any piece of literature on their website, and it will give you a summary of each chapter/section (in modern english!), main characters, symbols, and themes. I also like to take notes off of these, and I like to look up generic study guides and quizlets for the current piece we are reading. Hope this helped 😊

I annotate my literature book and I use that to study lit. I usually underline things that are important and sometimes write a ! or ? or just a quick note. Also if it was an interesting page i would write a quick 4 or 5 words on the bottom. If you don’t own your literature book just use sticky notes. I just skim over my annotations when there is a quiz. It is sooo quick to study.

Also I have to do geometry, geography and german vocab (we have to choose between french and german at school, the past two years I did French and I liked them but then last year, now and probably after I will continue with german because they're more useful as I'm going to visit Germany sometime soon because my aunt and uncle are there!) Do you have any tips about how to stop procrastinating? If you're reading till this😂

We did plays too and I find it helpful to highlight and stick post its too,, we make practice questions and answer them and we take down lots of notes and sample answers and essays in a notebook,, we do summaries of each act/part and write down the important things to take note of,, quotes to remember and character traits and stuff
I guess it's just easier to summarise everything into simpler bullet points since plays are so condensed HAHAHA
OK I hope this helped tho sorry if it's vague 😀💚❣💙💛

If the quiz is solely upon the content of the chapter, then read the book and remember the important details and read a few summaries of that chapter online. However, if the quiz is analysis then read thoroughly and find some questions online. Since you already practice for the SAT, analysis should not be tough.

what i write after this is mainly shit
You could try taking a photo of the text book or screen and put it into google translate and then into your language and then translate your answers into English? Or what ever language you need your work in..

I mean I’m assuming you know at least a little of that language to take the class in the first place. I have Chinese history at sch cause I’m in an Asian place, and I’m pretty bad at Chinese. Asking my friends about it helps a lot, cause when u understand it it’s easier to memorise like a story. Also write down the big picture, so after u know the general flow of things u can start memorising the little details

so essentially your apush class has a flipped classroom concept?? like notes taking from presentation slides / textbook at home and ‘homework’ w/ key info at school. what do you think of it? I had it for my regents chemistry class junior year and i failed it
