Sometimes, you have to resist letting danger and the associated paranoia getting in the way of a good adventure. There's a balance to be struck for sure, in terms of being cautious and aware of specific dangers, taking appropriate steps etc, versus allowing the looming threat induced fear which leads to limitations (avoiding taking a route, or changing a plan to stay in a cool place). For bears (and general wildlife unknowns) it's all about percentage of risk based on doing certain things. Things that increase risk: food cooked in same place as sleeping (competing over resource), protecting offspring (maternal instinct), mating (increased aggression), and finally, pure bad luck of wrong place, wrong time. You do hear horror stories about the latter scenario, but I'd bet even those probably also fall into one of the previous categories which carry higher risk. This is all very logical, and totally ignores the primal fear we'd all naturally fear in such scenarios, but I think a key to maximising adventure is rationalising risk, being prepared, remaining calm, and beyond that, within reason, then pushing most of the fear away and just have an epic time. Zero criticism contained within that for the dynamic duo in this video, was just something I was musing over while watching and thinking back on similar situations I've been in while travelling in amazing wild places!
@@alexislecarb was lucky to spend a few years traveling about here and there. The wildest was probably India...it felt like going to the shops was an adventure. I did have one very memorable trip to the Western Ghats, where I got absolutely covered in leeches. That night I spent the night sleeping on the veranda of a homestay. All night long I kept hearing these weird animal noises in the forest behind me. Woke up in the morning and asked the locals. They said they have lots of leopards and they give the village problems each year. I said you could have told me that before I chose to sleep outside covered in blood! 😂

You guys are freaking crazy awesome that country looks alot like Oregon were i live i love going on your adventure thanks for taking me along im 70 and love riding, i road a honda xr650l for years go anywere bike not the best hiway now a 2006 bmw GS 1200 i love it for what i do now is great. Crazy thing is, I live 70km away from the nearest mountains, in the hill side, and in the past 2 years I ve spotted more bears than my entire life, roaming along the streets, they are huge and sadly a girl lost her life attacked by a bear while hiking through the mountains just last month.

Eh c’est le cas 👌🏻 Juste une idée comme ça qui vient… je pense à des petits formats de 5 min grand max, découpés, reprenant des passages du movie, que tu commenterais avec des intervenants sur un ton bon pote en mode rigolade. Man Romania is absolutely stunning once you leave the main road and explore the woods. It’s crazy. I’d recommend 100% to go and do that 🐻 The tent we got is the Tentsile Connect 2 person tree tent! Amazing product.

One thing I'm always wondering is why not using google translator or so. Everyone is taking photos and stuff, pull their mobile out on every given second... but in such a situation, where one can tell by just the gestures that farmer made, that he tries to warn you and is quite worried. So why not pulling out the mobile there and use it as translator?! I am really curious about it and have no intention to offend anybody with that question!
