On that Weathertec with the wide spoon, those are designed to work with a wide range of nozzles and angles. I have a 25A and 20A with the same thing. My 20A came with the same nozzle as your WT, its a spreader nozzle to make the stream more diffused as a spreader nozzle should. I ran my 25A with a regular straight bore 5/32" and then with a 7degree 5/32" spreader. With the straight bore it moved VERY quickly. I have video of it running with both the straight and the spreader. I believe those WT impacts were used for the same purpose as the 14VH, for frost protection for groves, orchards etc. Both my 25A and 20A have that wide spoon. It isn;'t brass either, its aluminum (i think) to prevent freezing.

I kind of figured that the weather tec was for the same purpose as the 14vh and that the spoon would carry and spread more water as well as moving quicker. I am looking forward to testing more of my full circles.

Very informative video! Thanks for sharing the knowledge! You have a nice collection of sprinklers there! What brand is that 1" Brass impact? Is that a Rainbird? or another name? Don't think i've seen that design before!

The Large 1" full circle is like a Rain Bird model 70, but there are no markings on this one or the bunch that I have. They are unbranded and so I think they are cheap imports, but do not know anything more than that. I have seen some similar advertised on a couple of sites that look like it. RK-40F on the Irrigationking site is very similar. I hope to try it out one of these days, most likely during the spring when the weather settles down. It seems well built and I see no reason why it would not work. Thank you for watching my video. It was longer than I intended, but there was so much to share. I have more brass sprinklers coming of which I know will require some repairs.

Very nice in depth look at the parts and their names of the impacts. The large 1" impact certainly does look like the RK-40F that I have. The journal tube can also be referred to as a nipple bearing.

I will have to remember that. I recently seen the two pieces called a bearing assembly, including the sleeve and bearing tube together. Thank you for the alternate term, I hope I can remember it. I find it interesting when I see a sales representative miss identify a part. I also learned the center pin is also known as a fulcrum center pin, which makes total sense.
I took the one RF-40K of the ten that I have and cleaned it up. It looks pretty now as I reassembled. I hope to be able to test it when the weather warms up again.

@@randyvanheusden732 That's great you found a lot of ten of them! I look forward to seeing the cleaned up one in operation.

I am working on getting an impact like your plastic one with the screw in the back of the arm. It is a Champion U61DP (It has the same model # as your champ brass impact with the PJ arm). I will be swapping the PJ arm out with a brass spoon arm.

I am looking to do more experiments with the screw in the back of the arm on several of the plastic designs to slow down the arm movement along with the spring adjustment that I have to do to get the results I am looking for.
