    A shame, this game is awesome even with all his flaws, EA wanted to launch the MH killer without letting the studio take the time to finish the game properly, well plot twist you wont make shade to a 15+ years long franchise by cutting corners and rushing a release, you killed any chances for this game to take of by releasing it in this state, i do love MH ( world at least ) and WILDHEARTS was a different take on the genre and could have been a great competitor because for a first try it was unique enough but well i guess nowaday it's more important for a gaming publisher to make a quick buck than a great game.

      Sadly it seems like that's what certain publishers or developers want is a quick buck rather than a great game.

    In my opinion there's another big factor that missed, which is the price, they are about entering a genre that have been dominated by 1 big title without any other significant competitor, the last thing they want is to put a higher price tag than monster hunter title but this is EA we are talking about, I can see the failure miles before the game released after seeing the price tag, legit my friend actually say they want to try the genre after watching wildhearts trailer but ended up buying mhw instead because he said "why would I buy a more expensive experimental game while there's a more cheaper polished option" he is now end up spending more money buying rise and generation, EA can't understand that building fanbase is more important than early profit.

      @HomelessGurl  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree, great point made.
      Again that's why I said what I did. You can’t expect it to be an overnight success vs MH who's built theirs.. darn near 20 years ago. It's had time to iron out and further improve with each new entry into the series. Whereas with Wildhearts, it being the very first. There's areas it could still improve especially in performance first, but because it's not getting the support it needs. We may never see anything beyond this.

    Not again! EA has so many great IPs if they would actually support them properly!
    Hopefully they try again with this formula, since they still own the IP. The world needs more Monster Hunter styled games 😊
    The game has a strong core, but damn, it hurts to see innovation and competition be killed off by lack of support. And hopefully, the frame rate becomes stable and smooth in the next iteration if they ever try.

    All I gotta say, it’s been done. They’ve done games in the past but nothing got off the ground. If you want that monster hunter esthetic, there’s god eater. It was fast pace action, had a okay story and that familiar monster hunter feel, without the sharpness or the drinking pose thing.
    If influencers would have stop calling it the “monster hunter killer” maybe it would have taken off. Players who were coming from dauntless complained that there was no end game or at least reason to continue to play. No new quest, that one armor everyone used, there was nothing that told the player to keep going. Low performance issues were just icing on the cake.
    I’m sorry this game didn’t take off. I should know, MH stories is a game I like and everyone is sleeping on it. Maybe someday monster hunter will get its rival and (I hope) people can be civil and be okay with both games. But that ain’t it. See you in Wilds.
    P.S
    Unlike monster hunter clone games, souls games did influence a lot of people to be inspired, so you are right about that. Lies of P looks cool but personally I’m coping on bloodborne to be on PC someday. Or screw it a remaster. Indie devs have also made their own souls like games and look really really good.

    I didn't even notice this game, but simpöy from the clips you showed in the background, it looks amazing. It looks uniquely distinct (being much more fantastical) from monster hunter and according to you, it also plays signigicantly different.
    It's a shame it apparently got released way too early, because aside from bad performance, everything you said sounds like it could actually have been a good competitor to MH (unlike dauntless, which is another battlepass galore quick cashgrab in my experience)

    • @HomelessGurl

      I think with the Karakuri it definitely changes aspects of the combat, but the core of these games are essentially the same otherwise. Fight monster to craft weapons n armor to fight bigger monsters.

    Wild Hearts is a game I really hope they try again with. It just needed to cook for a little longer. Like you mentioned, the performance really let it down and harmed its reputation and also unfortunately it seemed like they weren't able to fix it completely. I wonder if there's something weird with the engine, as Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty which came out in the same year and was developed by Koei Tecmo also had a bunch of performance issues.
    Honestly with Wild Hearts I think it has some pretty good foundations for refinement in a sequel, or perhaps paid expansion. Like the gameplay related complaints was the endgame being kinda weak, and the weapon path system needing some refinement and also needed to be less grindy as trying to make your kit of favorite weapons is definitely expensive. I know they were trying to tweak, but I just think for a non-live service game it wouldn't be feasible to patch in such massive changes to their mechanics.

    • @hazelcrisp
      @hazelcrisp 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I know we like to blame Ea but the performance issues are totally down to KT. It's a pattern with their games, Wo Long, WH and a little with ROTR. I played on PS5 so I didn't expeirence many issues. But I loved my time with WH so much.

    I love monster hunter. And I loved wild heart when it released but yeah the release was rocky and took time to fix but the devs did push out patches fast and kept updating the game with more stuff. That shows the devs probably didn’t want to release the game and were still working on it even on release day. I believe wild heart had the potential to rival MH. But sadly EA isn’t gonna give it a chance.
    Also Titanfall is actually a better game than CoD and Battlefield but sadly EA didn’t give it a chance despite actually receiving more positive feedback than CoD and BF. Overall, EA is a trash developer and it’s sad companies almost need to work with them for money to build there game.

    I don't agree that there should be another Game publisher with a monster hunter like game. Imagine that game pops off, but they put battle passes, season passes, pay 2 win, loot boxes in it. What we can see in the gaming industry is that they all try to copy the success of other games, regardless of the genre. Even if it is a bad scammy one. Monster hunter is one of the rare games which sticks to the old system, where the success of the game depends on quality and not gambling like systems. Look how they milked battle royale, open world, escape shooter like games and they still search for the new cashcow.

      Stick to the old system? While MH doesn't have your typical battle passes you see more commonly in games nowadays. It does have cosmetic microtransactions in both Monster Hunter World & Rise.
      If you're a fan of the type of games MH is. You would want to see more within that genre. New takes & ideas. To think that only 1 game should exist for that genre is crazy. That’s like living in a town where you have Charter or some other shitty internet company hold a monopoly.

    I feel like monster hunter is so unique and has perfected it's design so well that any game that wants to try the monster hunter formula need to be radically different, because why play a bad MH game when you can just go play a good MH game. From what I see from this video, this game straight up is a bad clone of monster hunter, they seem to have tried nothing different, just kinda looks like monster hunter with acrylic paint on top, I saw nothing new or innovative. At least Dauntless actually tried to change weapon design and philosophy, the monsters more or less acted the same way, but they tried *something* different.

    • @BadEnd98
      @BadEnd98 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think you're wrong about that, this game is unique and the combat very different to MH. In MH you have this kind of mindset that you dance with monster and taking turns, you can have time to analyze situations, repositions, and place well-time combo between openings.
      Wild Hearts is different - very fast paced with many kind of animation cancel, generous i-frame, building tools middle combat and such, which result in monsters going crazy like Nioh, Dark Souls instead, insane tracking and relentless AoE - it's like fighting force of nature, not a living creature. The way you incorporate tools in your weapon movesets, the way you build/upgrade your weapons and armors are creative and different too.
      It has a lot of jank, especially that kind of AoE spam with every monster get tiring fast, make it lost the epic feel at start, but I see it's unique to what MH has, like how different Nioh 2 to Souls games, it's not a cheap copy
