Grace fuckin rocks!!!!!saw her last night at gold diggers in Hollywood. Had no idea what I was walking into. My sister in Oz told me to go see I trust her judgement never even looked her up before going. Now I’m a super fan. Holy that voice Grace mtf what!?! that’s a gift from god. I looked at my friend during ur performance and was like I feel honored to hear hearing this.. And but hang on ... the songwriting too wtf. A whole new bar has been set. You feel this music in your bones from a higher place. It’s like Janis Jop Kd land Neil diamond johnny cash Roy Orbison and others I know I’m missing fused together. And fucking stage presence too. I’ve never had a legit girl crush till now.. just reported my gratitude to my sis... I said we have to go together when I’m back in oz on one of my yearly visits.. she looked her up and found she added a show (she just missed her in Sydney).. so Grace if you read this and feel the urge to give JoEllen Courtney a shout out at your August 3rd Marrickville show in Syd ... I know she’d fuckin shit her pants 😅❤ here’s to your amazing talent and how you nurture and share it with us. Fuckin love ur stuff and will hopefully get the privilege to see you again at some LA venue ..

As an absolutely obsessed Janis fan for 40 years, no. There’s sooooo much Dylan in this album (including actual Dylan lyrics). But this particular song is The Beatles’ “Oh Darling”, with a teeny sprinkle of Joan Armatrading. Just my view.
The Australian singer who sounds most like Janis is Abby Dobson from Leonardo’s Bride. Her solo stuff, and whenever she covers Jeff Buckley.
