@@raystevens687 don't shorten the tubes, leave them the normal length. The only difference is that you only scratch the part of the tube that the nib end wood goes into. You want to leave the rest of it smooth so that it doesn't interfere with the twist action.
I inherited a bunch of slimline kits when my father passed, this is a beautiful way to make a great pen from them. I don't like a skinny pen. Thank you for a good vid and a good pen.

I had another question in regards to the tubes so are both tubes the same length that comes in the kit or do you need to shorten one of the tubes.
