Hey folks, this is sameer and in today’s video I am going to how you a step by step guide to unlock the boot loader of Poco f1 and how to install twrp recovery. Now this is the simplest method that you can follow in order to unlock the bootloader of poco f1 and the best thing is that if you follow this method correctly you can unlock your bootloader in just 5 minutes and you also don’t have to wait for the permission.
So, don’t skip the steps and watch it till the end. So now without any further ado let start.
Now before we get started make sure your device is almost 60 % charged and you should also backup all your data as it will erase all the data from your device internal storage.

However the title can be misleading. I don't see the issue with asking to change the title to something with less potential to confuse ppl, which is helpful to other ppl like me. The remark also does not state he/she is not thankful, though the way you formulate your comment, you seem to imply it is?? i faced two issues, its really just dumb of me but i'll share it here incase others are stuck as well,
1. it cannot copy the item because the device has either stopped responding or it has been disconnected.
- basically there is an option under the notification bar on your poco phone there is this USB connection notification that allows you to change the settings of the type of connection, change it from USB charging this device to transfer files and you shld be able to drop the files into the internal storage
2. create a single folder and just dump all the downloaded files into the file TWRP files no extract
SDK Tools extract, follow the steps in the video, do not create individual folders and group them seperately into eg. twrp file or sdk and save the respective downloads into the seperate folder names, just lump them together. For my case, in the powershell window, i had to type ./fastboot devices with the key here being the ./ to enable the command lines to work it has to be infront of fastboot, if you type fastboot itself it's not going to work i dont know why.

You forgot to mention that we have to wait for 72 hours or 3 days before we can actually unlock our device using the Mi Unlock.

hey, i have a problem with twrp , i cannot see any of my internal storage's files on twrp, they are visible on pc with mtp. i tried format data and reboot still nothing.

@@fearoftehdark Not sure but perhaps if u flash the DisableForceEncryption before booting into fastboot to activate twrp it may work then when twrp is active
there is an option in the 'mount' section of TWRP to 'disable MTP'
MTP is the file transfer system. If you disable and then re-enable it, the phone should show up on your PC

Tips if you're stuck:
1) Disable any PIN/fingerprint before you start
2) You can load up the DisableForceEncryption (and the latest Magisk, it just comes in handy) zip files into an actual physical SD card before you start
3) The current "unofficial" TWRP (2 OCT 2018) image does not support physical SD cards, but this fixed TWRP image fixes the problem so flash this instead. Download at forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77587044&postcount=119 (Note this information may be outdated depending on when you're reading this)
4) If the first thing you see in TWRP is a password prompt, go cancel and go to the main menu. From the main menu go wipe data as seen in the video. This will clear up the encryption for now.
5) If you flashed the fixed TWRP image you should be able to see your flashable zip files inside the SD card (install zip > select storage). Flash those zip files.

Download the drivers of the phone so the PC recognizes it while it's in fastboot mode

It's true that you will be able to unlock the bootloader and flash twrp in just 5 minutes guys.... after 72 hours you can do it in 5 minutes lol. There's no bypass to the time so stick with it. Feel good because it's 72 hours instead of 720 lmao
It is saying not connected to the phone in the MI Unlock desktop app even after selecting the OEM unlocking and other required options.

After trying to unlock the phone via the mi unlock tool, after verifying device it says "Current account is not bound to this device". I had followed the steps as said.
I did everything right but the command window says fastboot is not a valid command no matter how hard I try. My Poco F1 is unlocked, I authorized the USB debugging tried on my laptop and Windows computer and the same happens.. what do I do to make my computer find my Pocophone? TWRP asks for a password on first boot to decrypt Data... Anyone struggle with that ? Looks like it's a bug in this modified TWRP version. How did you manage that ?

Hey guys i have an issue, i was running Pixel Experience 10 but on MIUI 10, i couldn't update the last one so i thought to get back to stock rom, update to miui 11 and then get back to my Pixel rom. I DID A F*CKING MISTAKE. I installed the Miui 11 Update through TWRP without restoring the stock miui 10 rom. It worked but i had lost my Pixel rom ( i have a backup), ok then i installed TWRP at the MIUI 11 because recovery mode got me at Xiaomi Recovery for some reason. Inside the TWRP i flashed Disabled forc Encryption, but it didnt flash the Magisk, i reboot to system and after 100 bootloops i tried to go back to recovery mode, it boot at TWRP but since then, the TOUCHSCREEN DOESN'T WORK.. I used xiaomi mi flash tool to return to stock rom, it did, locked the bootloader etc...the touchscreen still doesn't work though... I can connect a mouse with OTG Type-C and i can do anything you tell me in order to fix it.. i have already update to MIUI 11, unlock the bootloader, installed TWRP and have Root. Has anyone any idea or a solution to try? Thanks everyone in advance.

If you get ViPER Audio (ViPER4Android) in this phone and tweak the in-app settings it has, you will have a *much* better quality, and a higher volume if you want to. I've tried on my F1.

When I plug the usb-c cable into my device, like you are doing at 2:25, the screen turns almost completely black (except for a small text in the top left corner saying "y key to shut down" (the "Press an" part is probably not visible due to the rounded edges of the screen)). Have been Googling a bit myself and found that you have to unpack the unlock tool in a subfolder of your C: partition. This solved the issue. However now I get the message "Couldnt unlock. After 52 hours of trying to unlock the device". Any suggestions are welcome.

Main issue is because twrp keep asking for password to decrypt data. I tried to follow the suggestion but it doesn't work. No matter what i tried, it keep asking for password and it doesn't accept my log in password. even when i don't set password to my phone, it still ask for password
But finally i manage to find a solution to this with a little trick

Issue : keep asking for password to decrypt data. phone log in password doesn't work
i assume your phone is connected to your PC
1) Click "Wipe" -> "Format Data" -> type "yes" -> enter
2) don't reboot (this is important). go back to main menu
3) click "Install". you should see the full file storage value now
4) go back to main menu and click "Mount". Check "Cache", "System", "Vendor" and "data"
5) click "disable MTP", then "enable MTP". this will allow your PC to access phone file system
6) copy the DisableForceEncryption_Treble.zip file to your phone
7) go back to twrp main menu and click "Install". select the zip file and swipe to confirm flash
