Book recommendation if you haven’t got it already- The Betrayal of Thomas True, it is a genre bending book that is mainly historical mystery, it is lgbtq and the emotional rollercoaster you will go on is insane. Highly recommend it is my best read of year so far.
Ooo I have the David Nicholls book, I really loved the look of it. I have a few of his books now so am going to binge a few as have heard he is a great author. I do need to stop buying tons of books or complete series before even reading the first but sometimes needs must 🫢
Are you signing up for the Epic Fantasy box from Fairyloot? I was super pleased with the Romantasy box for July but have to say I was quite annoyed to find out that the other books they have featured are on Kindle Unlimited, the July book isn’t but I have to say I was not impressed so I hope that it doesn’t happen often. Tbh A curse of blood and wolves I would say to everyone just read it on KU as my goodness it is a block of cheese and that is putting it politely.
The pin in the may Illumicrate box I am sure is to do with the Elderlings series, it is in the wrong packaging, I only know because Becca from Becca and the books noticed and showed what it should be as the pin for that book was in a different box. Check out her video, that pin is definitely an Elderlings pin by Robyn Hobb x
This month I ordered a book haul which counts 27 books as usually do every month, but you know when I see thick cartoon it makes me crazy because I don't want to see so much in my crowded house full with books boxes but I can't help my self, this is my guilty pleasure. And I think to use these boxes of carton for crafts and many many things, we don't have so much recycling option here in my country.
Ooooooh 27 books is a good haul! :) ... but what a shame to hear that your country doesn't recycle much. I hope that this can change for you one day. 🌍❤️
@@MichelleReadsandVlogs Yes there is a little tiny companies but they are far away to reach so you will not economise your budget, your fuel ⛽, your out for recycling.

Hi Michelle, I watched this video last night and am coming back now to leave a comment. Needless to say I enjoyed this video immensely!! It's so much as if we're sitting in the same room chatting about books! Now wouldn't that be nice??? So many lovely books!!! So, highlights ... Goddess of the River ... I read Vaishnavi Patel's first book Kaikeyi last year and loved it so I made a note when her second book was due to come out in May and got it immediately! And then you go and show me THIS!!! The Illumicrate special edition. Sigh. Soooo .... I may have blown my budget going on Ebay last night and getting myself a copy. I'm blaming this one on YOU Michelle!!! The second book that took my fancy was The Wren in the Holly Library mainly because of the design ... and the cat on the cover. I'm not sure about the story itself because as you know by now I'm not a big romance reader but that special edition is gorgeous!!!! I look forward to your thoughts on it if and when you read it. I've seen all kinds of rave reviews online for The Ministry of Time and I'm intrigued. Again your thoughts will be appreciated. Five Broken Blades had several special editions that caught my eye (Goldsboro ... a stunning blue design with lovely stencilled edges .... and The Broken Binding which sold out fairly quickly and was the red based design as I recall) but I didn't get it, yet. When the Moon Hatched is also one that has been showing up all over. I've been collecting Jennifer Saint's books since the first one was published and I've read the first two so far and thoroughly enjoyed both. I love me a good Mythological retelling. Of course the covers are designed by Micaela Alcaino so that was an added incentive to get them. I think you'll enjoy them too. I've gotten a few special books in the past few weeks including The Broken Binding edition of Legends and Lattes to match Bookshops and Bonedust that I already had. Note: I really need to read one of the three copies of it that I've got!!! And I got Alexandra Rowland's Running Close to the Wind from them (it's gorgeous too) and Phillip Quaintrell's A Time of Dragons as well. I got Waterstone's Babylonia by Constanza Casti and The King's Witches, The Nightingale's Castle, The Theatre of Glass and Shadows and Miss Austen Investigates from Blackwells. There's probably a few more that I've forgotten to list here ... oh, Kate Quinn's The Briar Club because she's fab. Condo living continues to be a joy!!! We've had lots of hot, muggy weather but air conditioning is much more common a thing in Canada so we're not suffering as long as we're indoors. We've had some doozy thunderstorms because of the hot, humid weather and last week on particularly bad one roared through and the flooding it caused was unbelievable!! Makes me glad we're on the 6th floor of our building ... haha! I hate the really hot weather so tend to avoid being out in it as much as possible but at least we're near the lake (Ontario) so we can go to a park and enjoy the slightly cooler temperatures there. Oops! Getting a bit long here. Hope you're doing well Michelle and not working too hard. Talk soon!!!
Hi Judy Glad to hear that you're well, and life in the condo is good (despite the weather). I visited Toronto during August 8 years ago and I remember it being so hot that I didn't want to leave the air conditioned hotel some of the days! Take care in the heat and look after yourself. It has turned mild again here, I doubt we'll get many more hot days this Summer. But I am off to Munich next week, so I'll get some heat there :) It sounds like you've done some good book shopping. I didn't realise that Micaela Alcaino designed the Jennifer Saint covers; they are so beautiful! I have been exam marking the past six weeks, so working quite hard on that. Happy to now have 2 weeks off, and then August is a lighter work month for me (it's much needed right now). I will take ALL of the blame for your book shopping spree! I am a terrible influence and will always encourage the purchasing of books! I hope that you enjoy reading them all ❤️ Speak soon x
Hello just wanted to give you a warning because I see that you bought Illumicrate’s Goddess of the River. Make sure you look through the whole book as soon as you get it. My book was missing the first 180 pages and pages were out of order throughout the rest of the book. I don’t know how widespread the issue was but mine can’t be the only one that’s messed up. I was lucky that I checked this one because since Illumicrate started shrink wrapping their books instead of using a cloth bag, I don’t always take the plastic off right away and sometimes it takes me months to do it. I’ll make sure to check right away from now on 😅
@@Bookdragonfoodie Thank you for the heads up about this. I hope that mine will be okay and I will check it right away when it arrives. You'd think that Illumicrate would have caught something like that right away. Greatly appreciate you taking the time to warn me. take care.
As I am rewatching your hauls..to determine what book editions I want to get...I have finally realized why Fairyloot has never appealed to me. They put the barcode on the back of their books....and it takes away from it being a "special edition"! Eye opener for me👍❤️

The shipping thing sounds great. One question - do they calculate the customs and add that to your charge or do you have to sort & pay that once the parcel arrives in the UK? Thanks!
Ok sorry for the late reply on this. I had to look into it. So I don’t think I have paid customs charges as the items are worth less than £135. I think I might have paid in the past when it was above this value, but can’t 100% remember. So with stackry when an item is received by them I have to declare to them what the item is and the value of the item. So this is how they must decide if I pay a customs charge or not when it arrives in the uk. I hope that this helps. X
