Good intro! One of the hardest things for me is adjusting the velocity on overlapping notes. Say you've got your high hat and snare vertically aligned in the piano roll: How do you draw the velocity on the hats?

Go in select mode, select only the notes you want to change velocity and then use the plus and minus at the bottom right…
