    I was there over twenty years ago. Three friends together, endless waves and no crowds. We got invited by the locals to attend a school graduation ceremony and have dinner. The people were so friendly and happy to have us there.
    Sadly I went back recently and paradise is truly lost. Guess it’s just the way of the world.
    If you go go there, try to learn the language and get to know the wonderful people of the area.
    Fueron momentos que quedarán conmigo para siempre y ahora desde Irlanda me llenan de felicidad y un atisbo de tristeza por lo perdido.

      @@petep5003 Yes exactly I noticed hordes of surfers with their 100-plus dollars a day surf guides crowding out all the points while the surf guides attempted to kick out anyone who was not paying. The trend is spreading. Barra is safe for now but the crowds have doubled or tripled post COVID

    I've surfed this wave a few times before. Don't underestimate the rip. It's so strong. Literally, a lazy river that just sweeps you down the coast in a matter of seconds. If you jump in at the wrong time you are already like 100 yards down the beach. A fun wave to surf for sure but dan is right, you are never not just sitting waiting for a wave. You are paddling the entire time trying to maintain position.

    Some real surf journalism would be awesome and perhaps if you pointed the camera at the " surf guides" of Southern Oaxaca. The ones that have privatized access to many waves in that region. None of that money goes into the local community but just into their pockets alone. But there are thousands of wealthy surfers just lining up to pass over their money for exclusive access to sandy right hand points. Surfing has become a elite sport for the wealthy.

      In addition to all that anytime you point a camera at a limited resource like peeling right hand points you're going to increase the amount of traffic in that area no matter what. That has long lasting effects. I surfed barra 10 years ago and believe me the changes are significant

      Probably not. But whatever, the locals don’t have the cash to jump on a plane and fly half way around the world to visit either. Here in Abu Dhabi they charge $30 to visit the beach for a day and there’s no surf at all. Don’t get me started on Sumba, Indonesia. Sad to say surfing has become a rich man’s sport, like it or love it. Having said that, there’s still plenty of free waves out there, so no need to panic.

    Your cutbacks are good. Try a two stage bottom turn and dont over rotate for fast vertical approach. Start doing long floaters.
    But yeah, you got those sideways turns dialed. Excellent surfing.

    • @headmondronary2127
      @headmondronary2127 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Instead of two stage bottom turn another way is to try a deeper bottom turn where you start it facing more direct to the beach and lay it down deeper more like a water ski turn which enables you to come up the face more vertical like going up the transition on a half pipe. Checkout slaters bottom turns
