    I always break apart my crochet hair. I only use two packs. Only thing I do differently is invisible knots on the part but I love the big fro broken apart look. I don't care for when people leave it in the coils. Looks unnatural. Love this

    I see a lot of people dissing this hair but its about what you're looking for. If you're looking for a high-gloss synthetic hair this is not for you. This is very much like a natural roller set on your own 4 something hair. but I swam in this hair, (more than once and i went completely under) and it held up fine. The frizz is what makes it look natural....The only thing I did have to do is maybe separate and cut some frizzes. The curls also fell a little over time....but i love it! Had it for about 4-6 weeks..... Just fell in love again ...probably do it for the New Year!

      B Juin thank you for your opinion on this hair. I kinda got discouraged about this hair because most people on youtube say that they kept it in for about a week because its too frizzy. But i think that's what makes it more natural looking. The older it gets the better it looks. Thank you I'm going to try this hair.

      I appreciate your reality check about this hair. I took it down on the 4th day because of tangles and frizz. I guess I'm more of a Wand, Ringlet, etc higher shine curl lover.

      I completely agree about the texture if you're looking for glossy curly hair this isn't it. It does exactly mimic a roller set in 4 type hair. I love this look. Looks much more natural

    This is so great! I'm losing my hair horribly in the crown of my head and haven't really felt comfortable with any replacement solution. I've been walking around in head scarves or feeling like everyone was staring at the bald spot in the top of my head. These videos have helped my stylist and I to get excellent results, and so inexpensively. The fact that it doesn't seem to damage your natural hair is such a bonus.

      I think folks expect too much from "cheap hair" this hair looks great but it's cheap hair. The life span is a month maaaaaybe a month and half. I keep the same braids for at least 2-3 installs.

    I have seen some of your videos, and I have also seen a few others using this hair, along with crochet in general.
    I have to say, not only is this the best style I have seen so far with this hair, but your crochet styles are the best! They look so natural. No wonder people think it's your real hair. And I love how you cut and shaped it. This style one of two I am aiming for. Thank you for sharing this style.

    I LOVE ❤️ ❤️ THIS STYLE ON YOU AND ON ME. NO COMPLAINTS HERE EVEN WITH THE TANGLES. I JUST CUT THE FRIZZIES DAILY. AND SOMETIME REPLACE ONE OR TWO, AND KEPT IT MOVING. FOR THE ONES WHO JUST CAN NOT DEAL WITH IT, REMEMBER THAT EVERYONES HEAD IS SHAPE DIFFERENTLY....SO YOURS MAY LOOK A LIL DIFFERENT, YOU MIGHT BE TALLER. I AM SHORT, I HAD TO REALLY CUT IT DOWN. PERSONALLY I THINK THAT I USE TOO MUCH HAIR SO IM GONNA USE LESS. I WENT SWIMMING, SHOWERED AND WASHED IT.......THIS HAIR WAS PERFECT FOR A VACATION ON THE BEACH. THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH ALICIA 🌺

  • @MissBacktoNature
    @MissBacktoNature 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for the tutorial. I followed your instructions. I started splitting up the hair in three in the front and noticed the hair became really frizzy so I finished the hair with just splitting it by 2 in the front. I just spaced them out and still had a few to spare in the end. I brought 3 packs 2 black and 1 brown to give it some hi-lights. It came out really cute. A little fuzzier then I would like though. I cut the hair at an angle like you did in the video. I was a bit scared that I would butcher the hair but it came out nice. Thanks again!!

    Love this style on you Alicia. I had it done last night and the hair was very course and not shiny at all. I tried to fix both of those problems as I'm pretty savvy when it comes to doing my hair and nothing worked. My stylist followed your tutorial and I'm convinced your hair is a different texture, soft and springy, unlike what was in the pack we had. I could tell when she split the curl it was going to be a mess. Back to Freetress Bohemian Curl for me. But you, you continue to rock the look!

    • @AliciaGettys
      @AliciaGettys  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It happened with the Jamaican Bounce - that's the hair that sucks. I don't think it will last two weeks and I'm used to going 6- weeks with FreeTress. Jamaican Bounce is too course. Thanks for the tutorial.

      Bernadette Saunders Youre so right and varying packs of hair. This is my go to style and the difference in texture of hair is crazy. One time it'll be smooth and shiny like hers, the next its like a coarse dry mess. Lol I still rock it though. But definitely a lack of consistency with this specific hair from pack to pack.

    • @AliciaGettys
      @AliciaGettys  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Deborah Ross put in satin bonnet at night. Make sure that you oils your Braids with a thick oil (JBCO) to keep your hair moisturized. You can put a light oil (coconut or tea tree) on the actual hair. The less manual manipulation you do to the hair, the longer it will last.

    hello. this is beautiful. I just bought 4 packs. another person said they split the hair and it was VERY frizzy so she only left it in for a week. how long did this style last for you? did you have the frizz problem? did you apply anything to the hair? last question, would u recommend adding mouse to combat the frizz? thanks in advance! 😊

    • @AliciaGettys
      @AliciaGettys  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Deidre Gladden I didn't have that frizz problem. I did apply a light oil after I installed and that helped combat the frizz. I had this style for almost 3 weeks. I could have gone another week or so but I was going to the beach and this hair texture doesn't work well when it constantly gets soaked. I loved it. Thinking about doing another install for this soon. It has been my fave micro install.

      One single braid on each side and a total of 4 Y braids. 8 small braids in the front and 2 of them connect to make a larger braid going to the back.

    how are you protecting your hair during exercise? I exercise 3-4 times a week, and I think this style would just end in alot of naps and frizz during my exercising. Also, how do you maintain your hair underneath? I never bothered with braids or sew-ins because I know I wouldn't knowhow to maintain it underneath without it looking a hot mess

    This is gorgeous. I used Cuevana Bounce which lasted about 3 weeks but the hair is pretty rough to the touch. I will definitely try the Jamaican Bounce next time, it's look softer and even more natural than the Cuevana Bounce. How long did you keep it installed? Did you have to re-curl it at all?

      Didn't have to re-curl the hair. Kept it in for 2 1/2 weeks. Check previous comments for reasons why I took it down early

    Girl, I tried the Jamaican bounce after seeing your video and it looked a hot mess on me! I have a mohawk so it didn't fall low enough at the bottom. It looked like a bad wig. lol. It looks great on you though.

    Hi!!! Love this video and I believe this will be my next style. Have been wearing crochet braids for a while now. I have a question. You mentioned you workout. How did it hold up with you working out? I do zumba and boxing. Do not want it to get frizzy and old looking. Thanks for all info you give me!!!

    • @AliciaGettys
      @AliciaGettys  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey! It held up really well. I work out daily (HIIT). Just make sure the hair is up and out of your face and neck and you'll be fine.

    Just had to comment again because that hair is so beautiful. I'm seriously considering the same style - but longer, fuller (yep I like to look like a tree!!) - and in a hair texture that lasts because I'm lazy. Any tips?

      Thanks! One thing I would do is make sure you separate the hair before you install in. That's the one big that I did that I know made a difference. There was room in my head to add extra if I wanted to.

    Did you cut the hair in half before installing or is it that short? Turned out so pretty!!

    • @AliciaGettys
      @AliciaGettys  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      No I didn't cut it. It's really that short.
