I was so glad I took the trip to see this production. I love the Wiz from the Broadway show to the film and this cast was amazing! Dorothy was so true to the character, had ton of energy and sang so beautifully. The stage was GORGEOUS and the costumes were spectacular
I can tell the full show was nothing but amazing. The show was put together nicely. You can tell everyone worked so hard. I love the characters.. lord did Dorothy SINGGGGGG!!! She sung with her soul. Yassss!!
Go Muny!!! I saw the show there. It was my very first time at the Muni and it was fantastic! And I agree with the comment that said that there was an awesome Crowd. I know that was the only crowd experience there. I love their enthusiasm.
"Home" is one of my all time favorite songs from a musical. She KILLED it. This company sure does great shows. Someday (when the world returns) I'm going to travel to Saint Louis to see a show.
Why do these company's keep changing the lyrics to the songs that they have rented from the company's to update the show? You are not supposed to change or add anything new or redo anything from what you rent, and why is scarecrows main song in the show after they pick up the lion? unless they used you cant win when she meets him, I'm not feeling how the many gets away with dong these changes and other companies get sued when they try to do it.
Ouch! This is painful. The only redeemable part is Dorothy's voice. But the rest is utter garbage with zero connection to the original. Costumes? Terrible. Didn't the designer get the memo that Dorothy's dress is WHITE?! And the Scarecrow's shoes are NOT Converse! And were those Poppies or Leopards? And musical instruments?! They're dancers! Choreography? Direction? It's like there was an all-white creative team with zero idea about what this show SHOULD feel like! I could go on and on, but what's the point, this was years ago. The only good thing I could say is that it's actually not as bad as that even MORE embarrassing "revival" that just closed on Broadway! Sheesh! Folks, please don't ever do this show if you don't want to bother to know this show!!!
Dorothy was over singing and therefore her sound was completely off. She would have been better with just belting out straight notes without trying to "run" and embellish. I'm not a fan of the sexy female yellow brick road either because you already have the sexy Poppy females and the energy brought by a male yellow brick road is a good contrast. Glinda was good and had Whitney Houston' esqe vocals.
Shes a beautiful girl, but that hummingbird vibrato along with the over belting doesn't suit the role.... every Dorothy wont be Stephanie Mills so the arrangements should have been adjusted to her voice and the vocal coach would have told her to find balance in her tone and to modulate to her top notes so they dont sound strained and forced

This was an Amazing show! TH-cam does it no justice!!!! The score,choreography,singing..nothing short of wonderful!!!! Even Todo did a great job!!!
