Used to be a cracking market Ivor. My Dad used to have a stall on the market selling fruit and veg years ago. Helped him out many times. Thanks for the video 👍
I agree with Jonathan. Great market in the past but like many other market towns now. I wish the councils would do more to promote the markets. Wakefield used to have the best market by far, then they knocked it down and built another shopping mall. Crying shame. 😞

Good old Ponte market. Bought some stuff there over the years I can tell you. Shame to see it so quiet though. Was a great market in its day.
Too many markets fading away. Today was particularly quiet though.

Yes, I agree. Wakefield indoor and outdoor markets were the highlights of my childhood. I spent hours roaming around on a Saturday afternoon.
My Uncle John use to work in the butchers in the indoor market back in the 70s
