1. Understanding Ruqyah
Ruqyah is a healing method in Islam which is done by reciting verses from the Koran or prayers taught by the Prophet ﷺ. Ruqyah aims to ask for protection, cure physical and non-physical disorders such as magic, jinn, or other diseases that cannot be explained medically. This term comes from the Arabic "raqa", which means to protect or heal.
2. Understanding Ruqyah in Islam
Ruqyah in Islam is divided into two types:
Sharia Ruqyah: Ruqyah that is in accordance with Islamic teachings, using verses from the Koran, prayers from authentic hadith, and without elements of shirk.
Ruqyah Shirk: Ruqyah that involves prohibited practices, such as the use of incantations, incantations, or the assistance of supernatural beings other than Allah. This is considered shirk and should be avoided.
3. Principles of Ruqyah in Islam
Faith in Allah: Ruqyah must be done with full confidence that only Allah can heal.
Avoiding Shirk: There should be no elements of shirk in the practice of ruqyah.
Using Valid Verses and Prayers: Read Al-Quran verses or prayers narrated in the hadith.
Do not depend on results from practice: Healing is God's will, not the result of ruqyah alone.
Done for Good: Ruqyah should be used for the right purpose, not to harm others.
4. Steps to Ruqyah
Heart and Intention Preparation: Clean your intentions, and have faith only in Allah.
Performing ablution: Perform ablution to purify yourself.
Reading verses or prayers: Read verses from the Koran such as: Al-Fatihah, Ayat Kursi, Surah Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, and An-Nas, other verses about healing and supporting Ruqyah prayers sourced from Al Quran and Hadith.
Blow on Water or Body Parts: Blow prayer readings into water to drink or onto sick body parts.
Consistent in Dhikr: Do regular dhikr and prayer to protect yourself.
5. Post-Ruqyah Protection
After ruqyah, it is important to take care of yourself by:
Regular Prayer and Dhikr: Read morning and evening dhikr for protection.
Avoid Sin: Avoid sinful acts that can open opportunities for interference.
Protecting the House from Immorality: Don't play distracting music, and always read prayers before going to bed or leaving the house.
Building Relationships with the Al-Quran: Regularly read and understand the Al-Quran.
Surrender to Allah: Always put your trust and trust in Allah's destiny.
6. Conclusion
Ruqyah is a noble form of Islamic healing if done according to the Shari'a. By following the principles of ruqyah, a Muslim can not only heal physical and spiritual disorders, but also strengthen faith in Allah. It is important to maintain straight intentions, avoid shirk, and continue to improve oneself through worship, dhikr, and prayer. Ruqyah is not just therapy, but also a way to get closer to Allah and ask for His protection from all dangers.
