Three Wheeler tempo kauva/ kachhuva tempo we hire when we shifting from ghatkopar to Bhandup in December 1979.our house hold furniture and family members all enjoy this ride. It was much economical mean of transport.
It was useful for poor and lower middle class people as well as low profile goods for transportation.

Great compilation..Tempo was called a Sooar (Pig) in Agra, UP when I studied there in 1984-88. Three wheeler Sipani badal was featured in Ram Balram movie in a song, featuring Amitabh and Dharmendra (you can check, ik rasta a ha aha, do rahi a ha aha...In the film Satte pe Satta, Amitabh Bachchan drives a modified Trekker..in your photos you have also showed Sipani Dolphin (after Badal) but did not take its name...Dolphin was a 1000 cc car with all fibre glass body...was very successful in racing circuits, always used to beat Maruti 800, which were both converted into formula shape cars in the 80s..there was a famous driver named Karivardhan who with other drivers raced these cars at Sholavaram race track, which I think was an abandoned air strip. Lastly, also look at Standard Harald and Gazel cars. They were stylish in looks but ran very poorly in comparison to Ambassador and Premier Padmini. But Harald was a convertible.

Do not do foolish review... Hindustan Trecker was based on Ambassador platform... shared same 1500 cc petrol , later 1500 diesel engine. It was very popular and done duty in rural areas of India... it was been found to carry 20 passengers with luggage. You said that it was with the less power than Alto (800cc) and not sold very much. Its demand drowned after the launch of Mahindra Comandar and Tata Sumo.

hes talking about the 1.5 engine. only 34 bhp and 80 nm. the 2.0 produces 50bhp and 100 nm, have you seen the video where a small maruti 800 broke a world record by carrying 40 passengers for a 1 km ride inspite of having a puny petrol engine? you may wanna start doing some research yourself
