Boy am I glad I clicked on your video this morning! I really needed a good laugh! This was a gas from the beginning to the martinelli end! So funny Bex... and so cleverly done. thanks for this healing moment.. laughter is healing. Happy prola-trail-iots to you! ... or whatever....
Bex - you're killing us!! That was terrific. Whenever we see a new Bex video it takes precedence over everything until we see it. You're timing is right on for us. We are in the market for portable folding panels. Thanks!! Have you considered a meet-up? Bouge On!!!!!
Actually, we had a spontaneous mini-meetup a couple years ago. We were in Flagstaff at a store, don't recall which one, but I looked up and Robin said "That's Bex!" Sure enough it was. I got out of our van, walked up to your car and said "Hi". You looked a bit terrified by this guy walking up out of the blue and approaching you. LOL!! 😂
Oh, sorry about that. I'm totally not used to getting recognized yet and I always think of things I should have said after they leave. I'm trying to offer everyone I meet now a sticker as a way to break the ice a little. :-)
I have seen so many videos on these types of solar setups that I cringe when I see them, but Your intro was so dang funny, I watched anyway! You are a Gem my friend. Stay funny Bex.
Thank you! I don't want to be a review channel but there's so much stuff out there I try to help parse a little of it for someone in a similar situation to me. :-)
Bex you are such a delight, you make me laugh, your joy is contagious, and...this is just what I needed in the most daunting world of sola rpanels and power stations ha ...
Really sold me on the BougeRV panels. I have heard too many youtube nomads having trouble with the flexible panels. I dont want to waste my money on something that is only going to last a few months!
I've had a couple floppy panels die after a year and I always stored them in the shipping box they came in. Don't understand how they could be so fragile. Maybe the little microchip just died?!?!
Missed you and your creative approach in sharing your life with us. Keep on truckin’ Bex. Sorry to see that TH-cam buries your content even though I’m subscribed. Peace ☮️
Hi Bex - good to see your ok 😎 you look like your down in Az I’m also here in the desert Cave Creek it’s north Scottsdale . I’m not sure if your aware there’s camping for a small price with the best hot springs just west of Phoenix Tonapah hot springs it’s a cool place like an oasis in the desert 👍 best wishes Cathy O
🤣😂🤣😂 This was fun, Bex! Always good to see you in good spirits! Great unboxing and fun review! Hope it lives up to your expectations! Good health and happiness! Safest travels!
Excellent video Bex.....What I also noticed is that you can also place some rocks, or maybe a couple camera tripod sandbags over those solar panel legs to keep it from blowing away in that fierce desert wind. ......Russell D.
I definitely put a few rocks on the legs but nothing really helps if a good dust devil comes along. They have picked up my really heavy panel (25#) and thrown it 25 feet away. They can get pretty crazy.
Well, that was a great video! And I am at same point on the fabric folding 100w panels by the orange company. I am a FT nomad and my two orange 100w folding panels are not aging well. My old school heavy glass panels are 4 yo and still going strong. I was looking at the BougeRV panel and this video was the decider in my decision to order. Now I just need to unload my faded orange company panels...
I've had 2 1/2 of those floppy panels die. One of them only puts out half power, but 1 1/2 panels is enough to max out the input. Which always made me wonder why they didn't just make a 150 watt panel so I don't have to fiddle with two of those things. Glad to just use a single panel from now on.
Hi Bex - Bill and Martha told us about you in the past. Glad we found your channel. We just bought a Bluetti power station with two 120w panels. We tried them out in Anza Borrego last week and we’ were getting about 210-ish in at the height of the day. So far so good.
Oh hello!! Bill & Martha are a few of my favorite people. So very sad to hear about Bill. Bluetti is a good product and I'm glad it's working out for you. Anza Borreggo is one favorite places in Cali. So much to see there. Thanks so much for watching.
So sorry for your loss! Bill helped me fix a few things on my camper and I really enjoyed spending time with him. Such a pleasant guy to be around. I definitely want to get down to SD sometime so thanks much for the offer. :-)
Love this video! You had me laughing from word “go”. When I finally hit the road later this year, I hope to someday meet you. Thanks for sharing another great video.
Time to make the electrons! BB means bus bars. They are the metal stripes on the solar panel that move the electrons from the panel to your battery. The more the better.
Hey there pretty lady!! This is a really good panel and it's been my go-to panel since I got it. Just got a huge 2000wh battery so I might need another to charge it up. It really needs a minimum of 200 watts to charge. The only thing that I'm not sure about is that it doesn't have any glass or other protection on the panel itself and although I try to be careful, it has some scratches now.
IP67 is the dust and water protection levels. The 6 is dust and that is the highest available and the 7 is the water protection level. 8 is the highest level with that. A level 8 is submersible. 7 is very very good. Should handle the rain nicely!!
I purchased the BougeRV briefcase noted here. My first impressions are it is very light compared to my GZ 100w Nomad briefcase, but the BougeRV briefcase also seems to be somewhat flimsy construction IMO, legs are whimpy, hardware is loose. The mc4 to APP cord was only 2 ft long and wires exposed from back of panel to the MC4 adapter, different gauge thinner from panel output to the adapters output cables. The Mc4 to 8mm core was twice as long. I am a ft nomad and have GZ panels, Jackery SS panels and now the BougeRV briefcase. I suspect the GZ aum/glass will outlive them all.
Ha Ha Ha, you are so entertaining. Thanks for the video. Maybe a good take line would be, Keep your Solar Panel in the Air, and you wheels on the ground, ha ha. When I go shopping for another solar panel I will get one or two of these.
Some of the floppy panels are far overpriced in my opinion. This panel is much cheaper than the floppy panel that failed and I replaced. I can't complain too much because I did get test products for free, but I have always preferred the solid panels because my Renogy 100 is going strong after 5 years and more than a few tosses across the desert from dust devils. :-)
Nothing like some bubbly first thing in the morning lol I’m considering getting two of the 9bb 200w ones from them. Thanks for doing an in depth review of this; I’m assuming they will be very similar, just bigger
"I'll have what you're having" haha. - --er, "I'd like to thank the academy!" Hehe Hey great review of the new panels! I've had my suspicions about those floppy son's of guns. Fun video! Cheers!
Hey Bex, Why don't full-timers use portable wind turbines like sailboats use, for when the sun is not shinning and there is plenty of wind? Seems like a great way to assist the charging! I asked CVK this question and he didn't know why?
This is just my opinion. Wind turbines need a certain wind speed before they even begin creating energy. The lowest I've ever seen was 12mph but another turbine I saw needed a minimum wind speed of 17mph. That's a lot of wind and it's not that common in many places. Also, wind turbines need to be carefully packed to not damage or bend a blade. And they are much bigger than a simple solar panel. Not something someone wants to put up and take down with regularity. So wind turbines are much better for a more permanent installation.
@@BexCatherder totally agree with your opinion. However, I’ve seen some DIY units that folks have setup for camping. I think the wind speed can be there and just surprised I haven’t seen a mast assembled on a vehicle towing hitch or trailer bumper once in camp, since following RV boon docking TH-cam channels. I think the mini version that sail boats would be perfect to compliment a solar array setup for cloudy , winter days as an alternative. Thank you!
I love this information! I just got a power station and thinking about the solar for it. Hey, Bex, you are so funny! Btw, what chair do you have? I am searching for a comfy chair. Power to the people!
If you mean the power stations, both of mine are only rated for 200 watt input. Any more and you could ruin the station. But some of the bigger power stations like the Jackery 1500 can take up to 400 watts.
I just looked up the insta pot and the 6 qt is rated at 1000 watts. I have two 1000 watt inverters but I don't think I would want to run them at full power. Although, I just asked my friend how much their's used and he said it only uses 700 watts. So maybe the 1000 watt rating is only at startup?!?!
I agree with all the other comments! You are so funny and exactly what we need during these very scary times!!! Thank you Bex!!!
you make the sunshine look dull! thank you stay safe and level

I like that Vulcan death grip you had on that bottle.

The efficiency rating is the of 23.5% refers to how efficient the panel turn sunlight into electricity. These days 23.5% is actually pretty good.
