Sorry if I missed any tutorial.. can we only take 2 pictures continuously to make the double exposure image with gr? Other camera can take one first in the album or turn off the camera. then select the first image and start taking another one
Yes, you totally can set it all manually! The raw file contains both exposures already blended together. I don't think there is a setting to also save the individual shots. Some cameras do have that option, but if I remember correctly the GR does not.
Can I ask about how you cleaned these up in post, if at all? Every time I try this with my GR3, say I did a mirror image of a building like you did in the video, the come out very ghostly and transparent looking, even set against the sky. Is it just an issue with choosing subjects that are contrasty compared to the background?
I just did a very basic edit of the raw. The key is contrast as you say. In this case, the sky and the surrounding buildings are dark and cool, while Tokyo Tower is bright and warm. This allows the tower to pop against the background when the frame is inverted. Choosing the right subjects and pulling off great double exposure is very difficult. Honestly, though I've been messing around with multi-exposures here and there, this is my only one that I consider a success. Keep it up!! :)
I am so glad that you are actually using the layer system in MyMaps. I've seen too many inefficient uses of it (T_T) From what I can tell at a glance, it looks like your symbols are easy to understand too! Edit: The photos are amazing!
Thanks!! I spent hours on this map haha. Each location also has at least one photo showing what's there. (Actually, a handful are still missing, but I'm working on it!)
thanks for the trick, didn't know that it exists in Gr3. Can you tell me about the address of where you took the pictures of Tokyo Tower? such a nice location
Thank you! Unfortunately, this is not the kind of place where I can share the address. But for great views of Tokyo Tower I recommend visiting the rooftops of Mori Tower. The view from there is the best in Tokyo in my opinion! :)
Wow, I didn't know this feature and I'm glad to see it's also present in the GR2. I just noticed that you have now also the GR3. Do you still have the GR2? is the upgrade worthwhile? Would be great if you could do a comparison video :).
I do still have my GR II, but it was slowly dying (focus motor was giving out). I did not expect the GR III to be such a big upgrade, but actually I'm blown away. It's a great camera! It not much to compare though since it's basically the same thing but better. The biggest improvements are the AF, the high ISO performance, and the resolution. Otherwise, it's the same thing. :)
Thanks!! Actually, it works with other cameras too! Many cameras can do it, you just have to find the option. For example, I know for sure that Fuji and Nikon have this option.
I agree, plus in PS you're stuck with the photos you've alrdy taken. In camera you've got such massive flexibility and possibilities that it's just so much more fun!
Exactly! You can see the results right away and re-shoot to get the exact look you want. I figured out the concept by playing around in the scene. I know how to recreate it in Photoshop, but I don't think I would have figured it out in Photoshop in the first place.
That overlay image is pretty handy I haven't done any double exposures for a long time but will have to try again with that new feature. Your videos on this channel and the Ricoh one have been great keep up the good work!
This camera is totally underrated. Size, weight, functions and mostly quality is great. Thanx for your videos and a happy 2021.
Totally agreed! I've been using GR II for a few years. I really enjoy these cameras. :)
Thanks really like the look of it will definitely try
Glad to hear that!! :)

I'm not sure about all that, but I know it can do more than two. Maybe up to 10?
Thank you, excellent video
Thank you!! :)
Stupid question, can you manually expose while using the double-exposure function? Also, is the raw file a single file or multiple? Thank you!
Yes, you totally can set it all manually! The raw file contains both exposures already blended together. I don't think there is a setting to also save the individual shots. Some cameras do have that option, but if I remember correctly the GR does not.
@@EYExplore That’s awesome! So happy it bakes them together. Sold!
Fantastic I’ve been looking for some tips on double exposure for a while 👍

I love your videos! You explain so well. Thank you! :-)
Thank you so much!! Glad to hear that! :)
Ha, I didn't even know, my GR3 could do that (and that easily), so at least I learned a "dark secret" lol.
Haha, glad to hear that!! :)
Same to me 😅🤯 It always surprises me...
I never knew about multi-exposure . Thanks for a workaround to my joy of reflection photos when there is no reflective surface !
Glad to be of service!! :)

@@EYExplore Thanks for the tips, I can think of a few subjects in my city that might work well. I'll keep trying!
very cool!

Where shall I find that appealing Tokyo Map?
@@vansalaman We sell it on our website here: www.eyexplore.com/adventures/digital-products/tokyo-photo-spot-map/
Wow this looks amazing. Can I ask where this Spot is? I couldn‘t find it on the Tokyo Map I got as a patreon
It's a good one! It's labeled 'Ryukan-sakura Bridge Train View' on the map. You can find it here: goo.gl/maps/hXf4xgk9YyRiEg5d7
@@EYExplore Thank you very much
Haha Nice trick ! I just tried it out! Thanks 🤩🙏
Glad you like it! :)
Cool! Does the cam produce the double exposure image as a raw file, or only JPEG?
As a raw file! Which is great! :)
I recommended to make Double exposure. Thank you.
Thank you! :)

if only you could find one to buy! lol
Yeah, it's hard to get them these days...
I don’t even have the camera but this is awesome.

I love this. Unfortunately, I have quite outdated Canon 300D and Canon 600D, which can't do that. Guess I'm gonna Photoshop :D
Well, I included a 10 second tutorial right at the end. :)
Nice:)
Thanks 😁
