Good job planting! Ya that alfalfa is expensive I don't blame u for checking the drill a lot. I'd like to see how they harvest alfalfa since its so small. Good commentary too and singing lol
now i have to do a rain dance. i was shocked when they told me the price. ive heard they use to. harvest a lot of seed. in Sterling Colorado. dont know if they do any more.there was a guy i worked with that told me they would swath then combine it,the seed companies have changed the game. i am wondering wether the horse people will buy roundup read lol. the singing i am going to have to remember i have the camera going. it hurts my ears when i play it back. lol. thanks Jake.
How do you go about processing and using/ selling 20 acres of alfalfa? Are you selling it for silage? Im city folk trying to learn more about farming on small acreage.
wow i cant amagine 50 acres. hope you got a better deal then me on it. then i had to drive 60 miles to get it. i have never planted 20 pounds an acre.normally 12 but i then irrigate it up. thanks Josh.

I prefer to not use roundup ready because it doesn’t yield as high as some other varieties and is way more expensive than those said varieties

WELCOME TO CRAZY TOWN POPULATION YOU!!!
Lovely place to live
If seeds so expensive why not just plant open pollinated seed and harvest and replant seed?
alfalfa last for many years it only needs to replanted when stand gets to thin.
