Nintendo's new Ring Fit Adventure kicked my butt

- Bridget Carey feels the burn in an early demo of Nintendo's new exercise game for the Switch, Ring Fit Adventure. It's a fantasy quest. It's a workout machine. It's quirky Nintendo at its healthiest.
This goes way beyond the days of Wii Fit. With a Ring Con and leg strap, become a fitness hero to fight baddies who spend way too much time at the gym.
The game comes out Oct. 18 for $80.

Timmity3 If it was an AD It would’ve been a paid sponsorship by Nintendo, meaning she would have closed her segment with something along the lines of “Be sure to give it a try” with additional hype around the product, she simply stated “Looking forward to seeing more”. Use the whole brain not half. Taking the term “selling it” too serious lol

Bre M Home gyms exist you know. If you don’t have the money to buy equipment, you can look up other body weight exercises(calisthenics) just like the ones in the game.

My god, is it just me or she's just hilarious and so fun to watch. :) Never knew she had this fun side while testing this game out. Please let her do more reviews like this!!! She brings per personal life/experience into this and it makes so interesting to watch. I wonder if the cameraman or camerawoman had a crack or two while filming this. lol

Same, I work out already at the gym more than regularly but this is a good way for me to do more core excersizes and practice my form and posture.

Glad it was Bridget testing it out, she always makes fun videos. Also I wouldn't mind having one of those Nintendo Switch pillows at the end there.
Im glad that this vid came on my feed. I am very over weight but my anxiety and depression makes it hard to leave my house. So watching her sample it and see that she was getting a real work out has made me feel that this might help me loose some of my weight and make me feel a bit more confident about myself and actually enjoy going out with my husband and 8 year old.
Try out this and some different things in case you're bored, like dancing, yoga, stretching... You don't need to leave home for these too!

This is perfect for you. I own it and it's a legit workout. It's fun and motivating and if you're anxious about the gym or don't have time, this is great for that.
Alex Barroso I go to the gym but for swimming only. I prefer to do everything else at home. I’m able to take my switch to work also so it’s more portable than a vr. I have the oculus go but I only use it to browse and watch movies and shows. It’s heavy on your face so I wouldnt try to exercise with it.

This is one of the reasons why I love Nintendo, they actually care about you. They don't just want your money well they do but they also want you to really enjoy their products.

There have been some fairly recent rumors that have pointed to the idea of an echo fighter pack being a distinct possibility as future Smash DLC. And while the Ring Fit Trainer didn't receive any particular mention in any of the rumored posts, regarding this thought, I wouldn't put it past Sakurai and the team over at "Sora Ltd." to put the Ring Fit Trainer in as an echo fighter for the Wii Fit Trainer, if Ring Fit Adventure does moderately well out of the gate.
After buying and playing this game for 4 days now, I definitely hope so. This game is awesome.

The first time I played Ring Fit Adventure in Nintendo Switch was during the visit to my cousin. It was hard in the beginning, but it is worth it to do indoor exercise like this, to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

This looks very intriguing. I know when it comes to exercising, motivation is, like, 50% of the battle, so will the novelty wear off after using this a few times? I think a long-term review is in order. Will Bridget (or anyone) be channeling that buns-of-steel avatar a month later?
I've been doing 30min - 1 hr a day for a little over a month and lost 10kgs and have a lot more stamina now. So its actually a really good workout and a good motivator for people like me who can't be bothered going to the gym.
Hopefully they make more games like this too keep it fresh cause obviously its getting a bit stale for me.
Sweet. I'm on the fence but leaning towards getting it. Any game that can improve real life skills/health is a plus, I'm hoping more quality QOL stuff comes out. I'm curious how much resistance the ring gives, if this hits off well, it'd be cool to see tougher/more difficult rings come out

All this time I thought the joycon was directly underneath the ringcon to allow the squeezes to be measured by the infrared sensor. It's really cool that the ringcon is an actual electronic device with its own sensors and not just a piece of plastic.
With the leg strap, I think Nintendo should take advantage of the individuality of joycons and give players the option to use a third joycon for the other leg. This would practically eliminate any chance of cheating, and would be a great fit (pun intended) for use in Just Dance.
For anyone in the UK you can get the game for £12 cheaper at £57.95 from thegamecollection, I've just pre ordered mine, probably wouldnt have done for £70/$80 though. Hoping the ring is also put into other games in the future; would be cool to see some eshop mini games using it

Wii fit was trash it was a paperweight in my opinion this is way better because your not contracted to on single board they came along way from mat back in nintendo pads day.

Well said! If you're so busy or have to look after small kids at home that you don't have time to go to the gym, this is what you need! Looks like your whole body will get a good work out with this! Kudo to Nintendo, this is a big improvement over Wii Fit! I do real work outs so I don't care about this game but I love motion control games and that's why I'm still having my Wii hooked up to my TV

Love this review! Bridget's reviews are always entertaining, but this was really brave to be vulnerable by dressing up shortly after giving birth and acting a bit silly putting the Ring Fit through it's paces. All the other reviewers always look glam'ed up and so camera ready, that this was refreshingly authentic. More please!

I really kinda want it now. I have the Wii fit plus and EA sports active and loved it. I think this would also be cool if they had a step thingy to take with ya for your outside walks to gain points!

I experienced the same thing by using 'Zwift' a cycling immersive exercise reality.

Someone who has osteopenia which affects my back I need this because me being you know disabled, and not able to drive to the gym. This is a great alternative to get me in a moving and strengthening my muscles at home.

I need something like this. I have no motivation to do anything after work, except play video games. So this is perfect!! I just pre ordered it :)
One of my issues with the gym was that it's too expensive of course so I joined Planet Fitness for $10/MO. I went for a year or so but the nearest one to me is about 20 minutes away so 1st that ends up being a lot of gas money, and 2nd I don't often have all that extra time or even feel like spending all that extra time. Being able to spend a small amount of money to work out at home while having fun might actually be worth it compared to going to the gym.
This will be good for me on the days I don't have my bootcamp work outs. I'm way more excited about this game now.
Got this pre-ordered, I figured this is cheaper then a gym membership year long commitment plus fees.

Fantastic presentation. I now want a Switch to get this game.
I have it and it is a legit workout. I would use it as a cardio workout if you are doing weights the same day later on. On story mode anyways you earn the exercises you get to do. I haven't tried the fitness routines yet but I may every once in awhile. I have only been doing 15 minutes on it because I have it on intense and the squat game is killer. 😅
