Here you can see how to change the battery of the remote control (fob) of an Audi A4 (B8 type 8K). This must also work on other models like A1, A2, A3, A5, A6, A7, A8, Q3, Q5 and Q7.

Very helpful, thanks. Although I did need a pair of pliers to extricate the battery unit.
This could be because the key fob was almost 2 years old. It would probably be easier to
remove the batter unit on a NEW key fob.

I have a quetion regarding my audi A4 as you know the key is inside of this case and my car has the slot to put the case my quetion is how on earth does my car (audi A4) reads my key inside of this case im asking this because i want to know what wil coste me if this thing fails is cheap or exepsive
