OMG! it worked! I've been without my crappy solar remote for almost a week with no way to control my TV. Waiting on parts from my Samsung repair guy, next week. I ordered an old IR remote and it didn't work. I tried this method, BANG! Removed batteries, unplugged TV for 1 minute, plugged TV back in, installed batteries in remote; working like a charm. Thank You!
You were the only site that fixed my remote and I went thru a lot of videos. Thank you so much!! I couldn't believe how simple it was to fix. I unplugged my TV and waited the full 60 secs , to be honest, after going thru a lot of batteries thinking that was the problem, I was worried that this would not fix my remote but to my surprise! My t v came on. Once again...you are the best!

@@JuanCamacho21and I have a method too! Take out the batteries, press each button a lot, then place the batteries in and replace the batteries, if it doesn’t work then try it with fresh batteries or get a new remote

Thanks heaps. Disconnected tv plug from wall socket, took out batteries and pushed every button a few (10) times each. Worked a charm. It was only the 'enter' button but I get it now. Dust and stuff buildup. Thanks again!

I dropped my remote many times but this time it dropped exceptionally hard and nothing on the remote worked. I was convinced that I had broken a contact or component inside the remote and ordered a new one. Shortly after I found your video I watched it and was certain this would not fix it. The buttons trick worked! Literally did not notice the Samsung Home button got stuck… until I tried this method. Couldn’t figure out why my TV wouldn’t even respond to pairing requests. Accidentally closed this video once I fixed this, so I HAD to come back for a thumbs up and a comment!

We were at our wits end and we tried everything spent a couple hours trying. Our daughter said go on TH-cam. Found your video and your suggestion taking out the battery and pressing all the buttons as crazy as that sounded actually worked. Thought our remote was broken. Thanks so much now we don't have to go to marriage counseling after all.

Thank you! The first one worked for me. Right after I tried the 60s sec. Still didn't work. then, I waited a couple of min and tried to use it again then it worked.
This worked for me ..Samsung's smart TVs come with smart remotes that sometimes require a factory reset. The reset is usually necessary if your remote stops working and replacing the batteries does not resolve the problem. Perform a factory reset for your Samsung TV remote by holding down the "B" and "C" keys on the remote until you see the remote light flash twice. Type in the code "981" to complete the reset. The TV remote can now be reprogrammed to your TV
Light on remote not flashing for me
My light on the remote never worked either but once I typed in 981 and pressed ok on remote to confirm it worked perfect. I’ve had to do this a few times over the year and each time it has worked.

It actually worked! Thank you turn the TV off and took the batteries out. Came back a few minutes later and put the batteries back in and plug the TV in and bingo👍

I have a curved Samsung tv since 2016 and this year 2021 only for 3 weeks my pointer on my remote control was moving all over the place on my television except where I pointed!!...haha!!! Unplugging the TV and taking the batteries out is a 2 for 1. They are not related! However, taking the batteries out and pressing a button on the remote for 60 seconds (or pressing the POWER-on button on the remote) worked for me. BN59-01178W Samsung remote.
