I have a crazy sinus headache right now and your calm voice is so helpful. I appreciate how you don’t have a ton of crazy visuals and sounds in your videos.
Almost all Oto's videos are on my migraine playlist! They are soothing and stimulating in just the right way when I am feeling really off physically. 💕
I always enjoy seeing A. Gallo reviews and hearing what other people think about the experience of using them. Thanks for doing this set, too :) ETA, her Chrome Oxide is on my favourite paints list. “Intense” isn’t intense enough to describe it.
8:31 I typically reserve my handmade paint purchases for unusual/natural pigments that I couldn't get from a bigger brand, but the point about handmade paints delivering a unique take on classic pigments is well taken!
I am so glad you are revisiting this brand! I love them so much💕 This set is great for a standard palette, but you can easily make one specific to your individual taste. Yes, they are pricey, but they are super pigmented, so you don’t need a lot of paint on your brush . They are made by artists for artists and they support local artisans for their packaging and ceramic/wooden palettes. They also participate in One Tree Planted to support the environment and use hues in place of toxic pigments like cadmiums and cobalts. Alina gives the best customer service ever, which is so hard to find in big brands. I will gladly save my pennies to support this company and if you try these paints, you won’t be disappointed. Thanks Oto🥰
Thank you for swatching all these. So interesting to see and to hear your comments. I bought one of the 12 pan sets months ago and have added another 8 to the set. I have the Viridian Hue, the Transparent Cerulean, and a couple of others. Beautiful colors, but I like the brighter hues of the signature sets, with a couple of neutrals from that Natural set thrown in. Looking forward to seeing the last 13 colors so I can complete my wish list. 😊
I agree that the Signature set is so much more beautiful. But then again, the Signature set is the kind of set I would put together, so I might be biased 😅
Wow! These are breathtakingly gorgeous.... Hope I have the means to get them someday. I'm a bit of a pigment nerd myself and the signature set is indeed stunning but this classic set is justtt WOW!
Gosh it was so nice to see you paint. These are beautiful, but i still like the naturale palette best. Maybe soon. But the price is holding me back. Maybe your code will give me luck when they next go on sale. They certainly were generous to you. I like the brush that comes with it so that kind of justifies the purchase … And do I need more watercolor or brushes …. Heck YES! 😂😂😂
Thanks I just received the classic yesterday and based on your review I’d have been happier with the other more unique collections. That eases the slight disappointment that the classic doesn’t quite match the A Gallo values/marketing hype which I think is genius.
I usually choose historical single pigment colors (absolutely love A. Gallo’s Naturale 24 palette) but these colors look beautiful too. Thanks for making this video. I always appreciate your reactions and analysis! ❤
These look so beautiful but just looked at their prices woooooo they are expensive. Thank you so much for the review. I loved the venetian red and teal one.
Gosh the yellow ochre burgundy was my fave until you got to paynes gray. That gray is GORGEOUS. Sooo intense! Do most sap greens have so many pigments in them? I was kind of surprised to see Pv but I am new to understanding pigment composition. Loving this series!
I need help choosing where to start with a professional set. I saw Roman Szmal and A Gallo. Is when more preferred over another? Or any other thoughts?
At £9.80+ per half pan and no offering of tube paints, I cannot hesitate but say their pricing model is nothing short of overpriced. Some really lovely colours for sure but I'll be sticking with other brands and filling my own pans.
Disclaimer: I have some A Gallo watercolors. No one needs A Gallo watercolors but they are lovely, particularly their unique colors. It is a handmade brand of watercolors, but in the end this brand, or even more expensive brands like Blueberry & Greenleaf, are not going to make a person a better artist. However, whether this brand or any other brand, might inspire an artist’s creativity. There is a British brand of watercolors called Jackman’s (not to be confused with Jackson’s) which I discovered from Michele Webber’s channel on YT, and the Jackman’s website says they are handmade too. I have some Jackman’s watercolors, but unfortunately I have not had the time to try them out.

Also watching this with a headache and also appreciative of the style!

I love seeing this series. I bought their 12 Classic set last week and I can't wait until it shows up!

Couldn't agree more! I absolutely adore all my A Gallo paints.
“Pigment nerdiness.” I so enjoy you and your videos!

I adore these run-throughs!
Even if I am not buying, they are always so enjoyable and beautiful.
I totally love colors that granulate!👍

I love those videos Dr. Oto. Thank you for sharing! I live vicariously through you!

Those Reds alone... my gosh!!!
Edit: 5:54 I didn't understand what PB15:3 meant until now, so Thank You!
I was waiting for this video ever since you did the Naturale set!! These pigments really looks appealing to me. I may have to invest in A. Gallo!
I love this palette and these paints!

Love watching the swatching!
Thank you for showing these.
It's almost cruel how beautiful those reds are. Guess I need to save my pennies!

I'm sorry to say but they charge a lot of money for that palette and offer a lot of hues plus a black&white?🙄 not worth buying IMO
A real pity that A Gallo watercolors aren't so widely availabe.
