He is obsessed with her. He says he loves her but never asks her what she wants. He knows Xiao yao loves him as her brother, but still, he wants her to marry him. It's not love. The Actor did justice to the character with is lively expressions. It's enjoyable to watch his part.
I disagree. He knows what she wants, and he wants it too - a peaceful life with the one he loves. But all these characters are shaped by their trauma. XY with her fear of abandonment and CX with his fear of not being able to protect who he loves. He’s lived most of his life either seeing his loved ones be killed by stronger forces and walking on a razor’s edge to keep from dying himself. He didn’t want to be emperor for power. He’s not interested in wealth. He did it for XY…to keep her safe. Unfortunately, to do so means he cannot ever be with her as the life he has to lead for that power is one she can never be happy with. It’s so sad. He actually reminds me of Xiang Lu, except that XL has the strength to push her away so that she can be happy, but CX doesn’t have that strength. I don’t think that makes him a bad person, just a human one.
@@dostagirl9551 This is indeed the human side of CX. He's not as strong heart as XL. If you know true love is loving by protecting without having to talk or show it. It's tragic, especially since the fun things in CX's life are only with XY. All he knew was that they were childhood sweethearts. But what I regret is why CX didn't tell XY his feelings honestly from the start but kept it a secret. If it had been revealed long ago, their relationship would not have drifted apart in the future. XWY, he's the best protagonist male actor in acting now.
@dostagirl9551 i didn't like CX from the beginning.. he indulged Ah Ning's wrongdoings and exerted his power on weak ppl. But when times changed, he gladly took protection from that weak person XY.. he used her to enter Xuan palace, then keep using her to cater favors from Tu Shans, Chishuis, and Chenrongs. That part was really disgusting! He killed Tu shan Jing, knowing very well that he's the love of Xiao Yao's life... but he had no problem letting her marry Chishui Fenglong to gain political support and wealth. He's a good politician but not a good human.
