I got mine a couple of days ago I tweaked the sound with the EQ and it sound great hear footsteps better than my 7ps the only downside to the headset is the mic but it’s ok cause I’m on console and the mic sound is always compressed I love them

I'd get the Penrose over all of them, but if you have to get an Astro headset, then I'd get the A40. Just make sure to download an equalizer to adjust the sound for different games.
A30’s are a very nice headset as far as looks, comfort, mic, connectivity and the fact that it has a phone app. However for call of duty or fps games there’s better headsets in the 200$ range. Nothing beats turtle beach stealth 700 gen 2 max in foot step sound and directional audio. Next would probably be the new SS arctis nova 7’s. I wanted to like the a30’s but foot steps in cod just seemed so quiet and washed out. Returned them few days ago. I also tried the hyper X cloud alpha, ss arctis 7p’s and novas. Turtle beach is probably last in quality and reliability from what I’ve heard but they sound the best and probably best mic out of what I listed.

I've been searching all over for the answer to this question... For console gaming using a wired headset means plugging into the wireless controller (for the most part). That being said what produces better sound an affordable wired headset like HyperX CloudX plugged into the controller or a wireless headset like the A30's via 2.4ghz dongle plugged directly into the console? I know you have be be careful which wired headset you use because the controller can only output so much power. Thank you!
Great review. Lots of detail. How do these compare to the Arctis Nova 7X in terms of comfort and audio quality? I find the 7X extremely comfortable but lacking bass.
I think the material is more comfortable on the A30, but the clamping force cancels that out. I still prefer the A30 in comfort, but not for over 2 hours. The bass is better on the A30, but it's still meh compared to other options.

And as in keep clean, I also mean, Is it easy to clean if it has any stains on the headset itself? Love your videos, they really help!
Yeah, the white version gets marks on it super easily. Cleaning the headband and ear cushions with a cloth is no problem and only takes a few seconds, but it gets annoying doing it every couple wears.

Yep, most of the positive reviews I've seen from people who recommend Razer headset get free products from them. As for the H6 Pro. I would have gotten it if I didn't already get the PC38X. I've read it has the exact same drivers, so I already know what it sounds like.

I just purchased this and was thinking of going for the novas pros but the headband is annoying and painful for me.A30s are decent overall for me.Took me hours to find EQ presets for movies.Luckily you can set 10 EQ presets.Still need to find presets for fps and music.The equalizer app is definitely bug hopefully it gets an update by December because my return policy ends then lol I was even considering returning my AirPods 2 pro since this feel richer over all but the comfort on the a30s are just a bit harsh.Also hope the blue version comes to Best Buy.I would definitely try your favorites ones but they are not sold in store and I’m extremely impatient.Great review,you picked on everything I thought of.Hopeful upgrades better cushions and mic adapters.

If you still have the A30s all I can say is changing EQs on the A30 won’t do much.Changing EQs is just adding affects to the sound so your overall sound quality gets lower.Give the 560s a try,you might be surprised on the quality sound.

In all honesty, neither of them are comfortable for 6+ hours. I took both on a couple trips to tournaments last month. The A30 I can wear for an hour and a half tops. Penrose maybe 2 hours. For sessions that long I think the Cloud II and Barracuda Pro are the best choices. Good for playing all day. (The Barracuda's sound sucks though.)

Hey man quick question I play almost every genre in gaming (for now, mostly Battlefield 2042) and can't decide. Which one would you buy if they were the same price: HyperX Cloud 2 or HyperX Cloud Alpha and why? And depending on your choice can you tell me how much difference do they make about the difference that made you choose it. OR would blackshark v2 be an option above these two?
After using both for about a year and a half personally I'd get the Cloud II because it's more comfortable, gets louder, and the sound signature makes footsteps sound out a bit more due to the upper midrange boost. But I think the Alpha sounds better. The sound is more balanced, it's a little clearer, and it has more bass. So it really comes down to those factors. I can't say one is "better" than the other and the differences aren't major, but over a long period of time they're noticeable.

I finished watching a bit of your review and I just had to say it was well said. However, the Astros A30 Company isn’t the best at making designs when comes to headsets for matching gaining and for going in public. I just don’t like any of the designs. And I still believe Lucid-Sound has the best when comes to looks and designs to the point no one notices it’s for gaming. With that said, it’s about time that they made something that finally supports Bluetooth futures.
BadIntent: Two questions: I am able to get the Penroze and A30 for about the same nice price. But I just viewed your "WARNING: Audeze Penrose" video. Do you draw the same conclusion as I did: It is safer to just stay away from the Penrose? In that case my second question is: your A30 is white, looks cool. Does it stay white, or is it magnetic to dirt ;-)
If I could do it again, I'd probably still get the Penrose but make sure I got it new and from an authorized seller so they'll honor the warranty. The sound quality is just way beyond the A30. As for dirt, the A30 doesn't really stain, but both the frame and ear cushions get smudges very easily. So you'll have to keep wiping them off.

I prefer SteelSeries Sonar the most. I don't have a large sample size of amps to recommend, but some of them have equalizers built in too.

If the headphone audio is too loud, the mic will inevitably pick up some of that.

I don't have the Orbit but it's true they have the exact same drivers. So yes, should be the same performance.

You probably have sidetone at it's highest level. Turn it down or off.

Basically the same yeah. Same drivers and material, but the Penrose is wireless and skips all the head tracking stuff.

Yeah I agree. I have a couple trips soon and I want to bring my A30 due to its portability, but the design is way too much for outdoors.

I reviewed the Corsair HS80 and the Void RGB Elite. The HS80 has a good mic, but that's about it.
