After watching your channel I threw a rite in the rain pad in my pocket with my phone and have been astounded at how often I use it. I always carry a pen anyway. I've also ordered the Koh-I-Noor self propelling pencil on your recommendation.
+Josh Starkey Very happy you have found it useful! Yes you can use your phone, but nothing beats old fashioned handwriting and muscle memory. The KIN pencils are great, hoping to get a few more when I am in Prague
I just can't type quickly or draw on my phone. So the way I see it I use the tools for what they're made to do: the phone for internet, communication, etc, and a notebook to write in.
+Josh Starkey Exactly, people forget that if you need it in digital form, it's super easy to photograph or scan it. Mostly I find that I can leave the majority of my notes offline. Get some Field Notes Expedition next, that are lovely to write in with pencil, and are waterproof and tough

Or is there some other brand such as mole skin which has an even better pocket book? I write a lot and make annotated diagrams (all in pencil) and I would probably prefer a dot grid or lines. You mentioned you use a Field Notes notebook for your gym log and it is ripped (no pun intended). Why not use one of your expedition edition notebooks? It is tear proof and waterproof so would hold up to sweat if you have it in your pocket while training?
