    I once turned the fuel screw on a 4D56 one full turn for fun It sure fed the car at the back a shit ton of coal but it was loads of fun too.

    bro i just got my self a mighty 5L HiAce and need some opinions. will it work if i chuck a 3L Hilux turbo manifold and ct20 turbo on it then hot pipe the fuck out of it. also how much boost should i run (im only looking for a bit more towing torque, not chasing power). also what temperature EGTs are scary with these motors.
    I'm new to the diesel game so any info you have on these motors would be fucking top notch

      Pretty sure stuff like on the 5L and 3L are interchangeable. From what I’ve heard probably 8psi would be max possibly 10 without an intercooler but then it gets risky. With the egts from what I’ve seen I’m pretty sure about 400 is the highest you want but I’d recommend looking at forums and stuff like that over taking my word on it.

      @@DodgyOperations 400c would be max if your egt probe is post-turbo. mine is pre-turbo and i get up to 590c with intercooler up the steepest tunnels here. 650c+ for long periods is probably very bad for your engine

    What engine is this?

      It's a 5 gen L-series engine, or simply 5L, has nothing to do with cylinder volume, you won't believe the amount of frustration this causes when trying to find information through standard search engines.

    Is the exhaust stock?

    • @DodgyOperations
      @DodgyOperations  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, has a red back glass packed straight through muffler where the stock one used to be

    What exaust u running?

    • @DodgyOperations
      @DodgyOperations  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s a custom exhaust from the manifold in front of the muffler back. It’s 2.5inch with a red back glass packed straight through

    Does this help with speed or is it just for soot

    • @DodgyOperations
      @DodgyOperations  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Honestly it may or may not have let a few ponies loose along with the straight through muffler but i didn't really notice a difference. Top speed was the same and it's still takes off as slow as a tractor. Soots pretty cool tho, good for a laugh.

      In the 3L i have loosened the screw a tad for lesser soot. Honestly I don't see much difference in the hills. Just being light on the pedal is better i guess.

      @@Lucas-ix8bg Diesels are meant to run slightly rich in fuel, that’s why you see most diesels soot. I wouldn’t loosen it any from factory

      @@ExDee420 just solved my problem. Black soot indifferent to fuel adjust, long start with rough idle, high consumption and low pickup. Did injectors/pump no solution. It happened to be a tiny leak in the fuel primer assembly. It seems the tiny leak was causing the injector pump not to hold pressure. Had to screw back fuel enrichment to normal, no black smoke and much better pull. It took me around 2years to find this defect.
