Amazes me how from one area to the other it varies. In NE Ohio we still have Clover going and other sources. We’ve had a great year so far, rain here and there so the flow has continued.

Thank you for suggesting to do a mite count. We thought we could see the mites on the bees, we could not. After a sugar shake we were shocked! Too many mites! We bought some of your online courses to help us take care of our sweet bees. Thank you for such great teaching videos. We’ve learned so much from them.

i use a screened inner cover, with a 1/4-1/2 lift on either end to increase airflow under the outer cover.
it has the same upper entrance hole as with a regular inner cover. screened bottom/screened top.
helps with evaporating nectar too. use when summer days are above 85 degrees. honey supers on.

    Hi David,
I am Lynn from NJ. I have been watching several of your videos a day. I love them YOU ARE teaching us so much. Thank you!! Our Nuc is just 13 days here. We were blessed to get the Nuc from a from a sellers personal hive nice and strong! She texted me today ( carrs about my son whom has autism and he loves bees) and said she is making a beautiful and even better Nuc. Matth will be volunteering at her bee farm. I have placed the screened botyom board in, they have a beautiful umbrella ( everyone jokes that they look like they are enjoying a vacation on the islands😂we placed quaters on the inner top board for a bit of ventilation. I was taken on a top feeding board its not cut right so i am giving sugar water in their water stations and fondue inside. I was afraid it woukd melt but it actually hardened in the heat. I need a top feeding board terribly as my girls have a late start. I need to do the sugar dusting. We love them. New bee keepers, no stings yet and its bern hot! I have to go to the hospital i hurt myself so ill be watching from there! God Bless❤️

Newbie here. Getting a new mated queen tomorrow for one of my hives and pretty sure I have a newly mated queen in the (now second). So happy I've checked the hive every two weeks religiously. Would have caught this nearly so fast if I hadn't been! Thought it was a possible swarm, turned out to be supercedure.

I just moved my top feeder out of the hive and made a larger community feeder a few hundred feet away. It's been so hot and dry here in SE Colorado that even the little creek behind the hive has dried up. I better get a watering project done asap. I also need to add a top shade to the top of the hive as well. I made a west side shade board for them but who doesn't like more shade.

Although I am not a gluten for the stings of bees: I do get stung, in the summer, about 4 times by wasps. So, are stings, of honey bees beneficial for humans?

This is my first year at bees. I have a hive that was doing great Queen was laying last month there were eggs and lots of caped brood. Did an inspection yesterday there's still some caped brood but no eggs. The Hive is from a swarm from late May. I live just outside of Jefferson Texas temperatures have been in triple digits for the last 2 to 3 weeks. When it started getting hot I put a feed box on top with the lid on an angle and the entrance is wide open so no bearding has happened. The queen is a large Golden Queen very healthy looking, so my question is why would she stop laying? They are in a 10 frame deep box the box is 80% full so I put a honey super on last month.

My hive lost it's queen for some reason. they have 10 queen cells capped inside 2-8 frame deeps. None look open yet.
I'm in st.louis in July. Is there enough time to let it go and make there own or buy a mated queen?
Also since there's so many queen cells could I spilt still?
