- The Basant Raas Lila, the epitome of Manipur classical dance reveals the sublime and transcendental love of Krishna and Radha and the Gopis devotion to the lord. Basanta Raas may be termed as a dance drama of Manipur. In the full moon night of Chaitra (March-April) Shri Krishna comes to the appointed grove (Kunja), the gopis led by Radha respond to the call of his flute and they dance together.

Only one word for manipuri people for preserving their manipuri and hence our indian culture--- Beautiful ❤
Plz don't let this devine dance to die 🙏 save Manipur and Manipuri culture.
Wow.Manipuri is very beautiful ❤️❤️❤️love from Kerala 🌴🌴🌴
Manipur has developed their cultural activities,I love it ,respectable Manipur, salute from Bodoland
watching from southeast asia. i find manipuri dance fascinating and unique. it has all the deep symbolism and mudras of other classical indian dances, but the emphasis on fruid and graceful/floating movement is very typical of southeast asian dances. unique and accessible to viewers from both south asia and southeast asia. its sad how our two regions are separated by western geography, as southeast asia and south asia are 100% united by the shared history in Dharmic/Hindu belief and culture.
exactly, MANIPUR AND MEITEI culture is one example of juction of GEOGRAPHY LOCATIONS AND CULTURES of south asia and southeast asia. RECENTLY I have discovered many smilarity of celebration during marriages, born of a child and ways of worshipping particularly with the Shan people of Myanmar and some parts of Thailand.
Beautiful. A dance dedicated to the devine 🙏🕉️ Sree Krishna and Gopis .
Manipur is small but Have some rarest of gems..! Well done manipur.
Thank you
Thank you
Really.
God I used to love that costume so much as a child. I asked my mother to get me it even though I wasn't a Manipuri dancer. I still love it.
Very attractive really.
True...& now I am showing this to my child😊
Very beautiful
.I appreciated the introduction to to Krishna with raas celebration s
That costume was my dream as a child
Really? I hate it
Manipur has an amazing culture. Love from West Bengal.
Wonderful. Very Similar to Kerala's Kathakali. Love you from Kerala 🧡💜💛💚🇮🇳
Kathakali primarily focusses on facial attributes which is not at all relevant in manipuri
It is not very similar. I am sure you can find a few similarities but the principle is different. The Manipuri dancers don't wear gungroo and their feet movement is always soft. The reason dancers playing women wear drum shaped skirts is to create an illusion as if they are floating on the stage. Also kathakali includes lots of facial expression which can vary from anger to happiness. Manipuri dances seldom rely on facial expressions and their Rasas hardly express anger. That's my laymen explanation.
Very nice dance form......it's the best raas leela dance ever seen......its our duty as an indian to preserve our unique culture
So amazing, so beautiful I m proud to b a manipuri

name of the dancers?
Is it RAAS?
Yes, it's the Manipuri classical ver. of the raas leela
Krishna dance should be performed by male artist.
Who said
In their culture it is performed by females. Even in my state Assam,Ras leela's are performed by females.
@@trishna944not necessarily. Both man and woman play. Its mostly because of height. If tall guy play Krishna with that head gear, it looks very odd, that is the primary reason.
@@Tatatatatatattttatata being a native of Assam,I've been taking part in Raas since my childhood.I've barely seen men playing Krishna there are exceptions ofc but most of them are played by females, even the Asuras are played by females in my state. Same goes with Manipur, the character of Krishna is always played by a female. It's a cultural thing bro not bc of the head gear😹
Krishna-Radha is not Related with then Kangleipak(now Manipur)...So this dance is not a real Manipuri dance...we have "Khamba-Thoibi" dance as our real indigenous dance but not this Raas-Leela
The Raasleela is of our Bishnupriya Manipuri's.. But why meiteis Celebrate I dunno 🙄🙄 but it's okay 👌🏻👌🏻 meitei follows our Bishnupriya Manipuri culture ❤️❤️ good to see this raasleela 💚💚
@@sanachauba2903 it's not bishnupriya manipuri. There is no such term for meiteis. At the most bishnupriyas are Bangladeshi Hindus settled in Manipur after the Bangladesh war. Hinduism practicing Meitei community and Sanamahi practicing Meitei community and a very few practicing Christianity.
And @rahul meinam, our own Meitei king developed this dance form so stop saying inaccurate crap like this is not part of Manipuri culture. Just because u don't like a particular historical aspect doesn't mean u can outright deny it.
@@rkh7360 we're bishnupriya manipuri... And we loves meiteis a lot.. Even we're wearing same traditional attire 💜😍❤️💖
@@sanachauba2903 stupid mayang, that is us meitei.
@@sanachauba2903 You mean bishnupriyas wearing meiteis' attire
