When I make my flemmish twist strings I always serve the loops... I serve them by hand not using a jig

Glad I read your comment since I have been thinking about this. See my main comment. I have thought about trying without a jig which I have a bunch and am skilled with. My knock ties are 8 wraps by hand and takes 5 sec. Need to try it on a 40 mm loop very soon.

sounds awesome. I've been building strings for a few years even gave some to friends that needed new strings . Now I don't sell many because , well I hate sitting around trying to sell them. Learned that with my arrows too. Anyway I had tried making multi bundle flemish twist, 3 and 4 bundles and I found the learning curve to be too steep. But I remember as kid my Dad teaching me how to splice loops into ropes . So I started making a cord out of my strings and then back splicing the loops in the end. Recently I've built the main string out of 8125 and the end loops are B55 spliced together. I put it on my sage and got a faster shot than the b 55 strings and smoother than a pure 8125. Next iis to clean up the splices and work on ensuring that the B 55 loops match at both ends as I ended up with an inch more b55 at the bottom than at the top

Being the happy owner of one of these strings, I can't tell you how satisfied I am with it . Smooth, silent... I shoot every day between 10 to 50 shots. I'm so getting another to have it as a back up, just in case I damage it with a broadhead. Colorwise, my string isn't that fun, black, grey and tan. but boy is it effective!!!!

I have been using heat shrink on my loops for flemish string since the 90s . It works.

Cool, I was thinking on paracord sleeves, you know, just remove the core strands from the paracord and dress it on the flamish loop...

Crazy that I was just thinking about how to do this this a couple weeks ago with no knowledge it has been done. I have made both endless and Flemish strings for 35 years. And YES you absolutely do twist endless strings before you wrap them for a bunch of important reasons. I came to the conclusion I have to add a set of mini posts to my Flemish Jig so not to transfer. Last, Some of the forgiveness in a Flemish string is stretch in the loops. I wonder how wrapping would change that. Excited to try it. Just had a Flemish string last 2 years of shooting every single day and I could have pushed it longer but winter is a good time to make strings.

    I like your videos.
I am a filmmaker and I am a 60 scoop survivor (you can Google that if you don't know what that is) from Canada
As a survivor of a genocide, I've put considerable time and effort into learning about my culture and my indigenous roots
Eventually, that meant getting into archery for hunting, and that is what my current documentary is about
I've learned a bit about archery from your videos and I've ordered my first black hunter bow and I will be setting it up for hunting
Think when it's time to upgrade my bow, I'll be looking at trying to support your company just because I like your videos and they've been very helpful and helping me choose equipment
    Have a great day

I've been making my own strings for years and I've come up with a modification that may be good (it works for me)... I shoot 3 under and it was always a pain to fix my fingers at the correct aim (measuring, estimating, TAB with a ruler attached etc) as I like to shoot with a glove rather than a tab... So I changed colour of the serving material (at a distance, down the serving that was correct for me) to tell me where my fingers should be..... (This is of course subject to draw lengths and draw weights of individual archers) It means that without measuring I can put my fingers at the right place (regarding elevation) just about all of the time...
at 15 M I move my fingers down 3 finger widths .(that's where the change in comes in)
at 20M I move my fingers up half a finger width.
at 25M another half finger width.... etc
this works for me and allows the use of gloves as opposed to tabs.(and allows for different# bows ,if an individual archer ''tunes' their own shooting' .

I've been watching your video for awhile now... and enjoy most of them... and I really don't want to sound like a douche, but.. 1) people have been serving flem loops since at least the 60's I was doing it for old timers that asked for it to be done in the 90's... 2) you said endless loops strings don't have twists in them??? Um.. 🙄
Seriously.. just keep making a good product(s) people like... And putting out good videos.. no need to re-"invent" the wheel... 🤷

This is an old idea. I did this about 5 years ago, but when i got into it, my own idea, I quickly realized that they were nasty to make. The first loop is easy, the second loop is harder to hold. I would have needed a jig to do it, and I lost interest because someone I respect had moved to continuous loop. I had been using flemish for at least 30 years at that point.
The reason I tried to make it was because back then, there was a lot of interest in 6 and 8 strand strings. And some makers were going out of business because they so hated padding the loops so the loops wouldn't break the bows. With continuous, only half the strands go over the limp, so they need the serving not because the they use, say, 8 strands, but because they divided their 16 strands so only 8 went over the tip.
Anyway, back to the video. I am hoping that your come up with a different way than I was using, though I am passed this stage of things.
P.S. one amateur, or custom issue I had is I had to rework the whole string end out of the serving if I wanted to make a length adjustment. I make the string the perfect length of my bow, not to a number, and I twist it up to optimum, not to make up for errors in string length. What a hassle that is.
By the way, another thing I tried was working paracord sheath into the ends, I also tries using it as a silencer by making it baggy over the string, Neither I really liked.

I am sure you did not invent putting a serving on the loops of flemmish strings. I was doing that in the 70s and I was shown how to do it by my grandpa. As a kid and living in a very sandy area the strings would last longer this way but not a lifetime..... anyway thanks for spreading to word to the younger generation, you vedios are very informative

Endless strings don't have twists and are "uncomfortable" to shoot????? Either you have no clue about endless string construction or are deliberately being misleading. Not the only one to sell them because no has tried it. Many have experimented going back decades and found it to be a "solution" to a non existent problem. If a bow has sharp edges causing flemish twist loops to fail, it will do the same to served loops. You have invented nothing. Marketing is one thing - outright fabrication is another.

I agree but be nice! Krammer is young like we were once. I could talk an hour about how important and the proper way to twist endless or Flemish bow strings and I don't consider myself a true expert. I just enjoy making strings for 40 years. Compound guys like the two halves of the endless loop twisted opposite directions before the two half groups are twisted. At least I did that 25 years ago. I have noticed Flemish strings by other people have a much larger twist range than endless. I assume that is just to get the right size where endless string users are very very particular.

I might be wrong or missing something but it does not look hard or even innovative as i have served my loops by hand for years. :S
But i guess you found a way to make a jigg to make it faster.

Sorry, don't agree. The endless loop bowstring is not "uncomfortable to shot" neither has it no twists. I can make an endless loop string just a little bit longer, so i need more twists to achieve my desired brace hight. There will be no difference in feel to a flemish twist bowstring. I tried this with different bows and string materials (Fast flight plus, 8125, 452X).

This is not a new invention !!!!
I've been doing this for 30 years ... I've been shooting the same b55 served loop Flemish string since 1998 on my Martin Pioneer longbow. And this has been done in Britain for centuries.
