In 1296 a military conflict between Scotland and England started. After 32 years of fighting Scotland could preserve her independence and Robert the Bruce reigned as King of Scots.

At 3:43 you said that leaves Scotland free from the British, which is wrong. If you knew about the islands history, you would know that the term British was used after the acts of Union. Scotland is British, as is England, Wales and N. Ireland.
