You are doing fantastic work in posting these episodes! I've often wished that I could watch the complete episodes of this really weird and cool show. I only wish you posted them more frequently, as I'd love to watch all the episodes in order! Please do keep them coming!
Interesting interview. This must've been videotaped around the time Maria Reidelbach's book "Completely Mad" was in bookstores (6:40-7:05). It's unfortunate that Gaines would pass away the following summer; thankfully, his legacy lives on. May Bill Gaines continue to rest comfortably in peace...he is still missed.
Yes, it was in Dec.1991. He died in June of 1992. This was basically his last interview. However, he kept working at Mad right up until the very end. He never retired.
I just feel if I ever had anything like this, (as these two hosts of beyond vaudeville) had in their lives, I would have felt so much more fulfilled. All my attempts at arts and entertainment have been such a miserable failure. 😎 .. lol wup wup wup waaaaaa I love old time classic comic industry and nothing says that like gains..

The best show on TV ever! I never missed an episode.
So David Greene was the one doing the opening credit announcements!

If he was still around, Mad never would've moved west.

Bill Gaines seems like a perfect fit for this show; too bad he didn't get to talk longer.
I am watching all of these but still asking myself "what the hell am I watching?"
You're not the only one! I love Bill Gaines, he was a genius, although he didn't contribute anything to MAD, he was the soul of it.
"not my ET candle"
This must have been shortly before William Gaines died.

Funny thing Gaines says Completely Mad sells for 39.95 cheap but I swear it went for 50 bucks.
Maybe the hardcover was 50 and the paperback was 39.95?
ha ha thanks , that clears it up.
